This is precisely why I do not want him impeached. I want him to serve his full four years and be gone. Given his penchant for using EOs, when 2021 rolls around all of this mess can be undone by a real president. Then we can get back to some form of normalcy and begin the healing process.
True, an impeachment is unlikely to succeed - but the impeachment proceedings could be more valuable that the actual removal. Because, the proceedings will keep him so preoccupied he will not have to time to destroy anything else. Pretty much what the Republicans did with Clinton.
Trump is thought of as similar to a Nazi because he trades on xenophobia, not because of his economic agenda, which is straight out of the establishment Republican playbook of his donors.
Most Republicans are nothing like fascists, but fascism thrives in right-wing thinking. Back when I was young, Republicans ranged from liberal to conservative. Conservatism had never been a litmus test for Republicans until recent times. Since the southern Democrats crossed over to the Republican party (due to Nixon's southern strategy and Reagan after him) the conservative wing has been dominant and has been purging out their more liberal members. The process has been going on for decades, so now we have people claiming others in their party are RINO's because they are not conservative enough, although that was not the case in previous generations.
The Republican party is all about business and big money, one does not have to be a social conservative to enjoy the support of, and to protect the wealthy and global corporations. All they care about is their money. That's what the party is all about.
Now we have a president, the standard bearer of the Republican party, who 'dog whistles' xenophobia, prejudice and hate. Fascists thrive in such a political climate (hate crimes have spiked in the past year). As people engage in this kind of rhetoric they absorb a lot of the spirit of fascism perhaps even without realizing it, as evidenced by re-tweeting quotes and memes from fascist personalities or groups without knowing the origin, then being called out on it (someone did that).

No one buys this tired pretzel logic other than the Alt-Right cultists. In one way you are right - in the end there is little difference in far Left and far Right authoritarianism, we the people get screwed in either case. Compare Stalin and Hitler for example. Totally different Left wing and Right wing ideologies, but similar totalitarian tactics.

I think Toyman has a very valid point. How many of you left-wingers know that all a rich European has to do to avoid paying high European taxes is the live elsewhere as an expat?
That's an option available only to the rich. Gerta or Lars Sorenson who teaches at the local public school in Sweden doesn't have that option, and pays a chitload in taxes.

Everything about Trump is only seeking not to pay taxes, that's been his history. Why don't he pack up and go back to where his family originally came from? But he can't do that because his Draft Dodging Grand-daddy got kicked out of Germany, and his Daddy, Stole Money from the U.S. Government and directed it to his personal property, and Trump has fleeced the IRS and strong armed cities for tax-concessions, knowing all the time the people of those cities would have to make up the difference in what he extorted.
Now, why would any sane minded American listen to "anything" Trump has to say about Taxes?
A few dollars of taxes don't mean anything to people when we still have a mass of people making less than $10 when in many states, $10 is nothing more than the current day cost of what it takes to house and clothe a slave, or pay an indentured servant.
Wake up people, and stand up for yourself and respect yourself. Stop being so gullible and hoodwinked by a shyster.

When people are as desperate as the group that follows Trump, he can sell them on supporting racism, bigotry, bias and any conflict and contempt promoting madness he can think of and every 3-5 days, he comes up with something else stupid that sends his constituency into the cycle of belligerence they love. All he has done is expose the generalized level of "ignorance that exist in the Right Wing Constituency"... still they are too busy trying to cling to a old dead system of thinking themselves superior... and the more he feeds that delusions, they get happy as a mass of flies waiting on a cow to drop another load of hot crap.

Nazi (fascism) is entirely a right wing philosophy and the Trumplings don't want to be called that due to PR concerns. You can't really blame them though. It's an ugly name that's associated with all kinds of atrocities. Even the lowliest Trump supporter knows being called "Nazi" will turn people against them.
The right wingers here in the US are desperately trying to push the term "Nazi" off onto the left through false propaganda and lies because when people learn the truth they turn on them. They want people to believe they are benevolent. Those with a basic understanding of modern history know this. It's funny to watch them try though because it reminds us of just how desperate the right is these days.
