Given the "quality" of those he appointed to his cabinet, and the fact that those in his cabinet have been recorded in cabinet meetings fawning over their President, I highly doubt that President Trump is looking for quality people but rather he's seeking out people who would love to kiss in butt, both professionally and personally. You know, sort of how Donald Trump sought a personal loyalty oath from James Comey?

Gee, I wish that if I or my family or close friends ever engaged in shady business that might stand any/all of us up in front of a judge, the prosecuting attorney would be one that I personally approved as someone who has my best interests at heart.

Mr. Trump pledged to preserve, protect & defend the Constitution of the United States.

Agree he appears to be viewing his oath of office as 'going through a charade of doing everything asked of him'.

It's not required of me or anyone else to view his charade as respectable.

Mr. Trump entered the office with a list of identified conflicts of interest, & that list has continued to grow while in office, along with ethical violations, & violations of the US Constitution. His various promises to resolve these conflicts has been a charade & seemingly purposeful as various lame attempts to deflect.

The following two articles identify many or most of the still existent conflicts of interest & the continuing charade to 'preserve, protect, & defend' his own self-interest & not the Constitution of the United States. This clip from the first piece demonstrates the casual & cavalier attempt at charade:

Quote:
...Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Abe’s visit to the U.S. in February included a scheduled round of golf with Trump and a stay at the Mar-a-Lago resort. Before the visit, a senior White House official said “The visit to Mar-a-Lago is a personal gift of — I don’t know exactly how we’re phrasing it, but it’s something that the President is doing for the Prime Minister.”
TRUMP FAMILY’S ENDLESS CONFLICTS OF INTEREST: CHAPTER AND VERSE:

Trump Family

It should be noted the above is, by no means, identified here as being the most egregious ~ just one act in the charade.

Trump’s Interests vs. America’s, Dubai Edition
Despite its pledge to avoid new foreign deals, the Trump Organization is moving forward with expansion plans in the United Arab Emirates.

https://www.theatlantic.com/business...erests/508382/

While no one is required to even glance at the above reports, don't blame those who find the charade disrespectful.

Very snarky, good for you. But you didn’t answer the question.

"create the appearance that he may be trying to influence or elicit inappropriate commitments "

and right there is the evidence of another fake news story.

OK know it all, LIST THEM and back them up WITH the applicable law.
Ethical violations are not necessarily against the law, but here you go, the ones that have been brought up as concerns.

1. “Public service is a public trust, requiring employees to place loyalty to the Constitution, the laws and ethical principals above private gain.”
2. “Employees shall not hold financial interests that conflict with the conscientious performance of duty,” and 3. “Employees shall not engage in financial transactions using nonpublic government information or allow the improper use of such information to further private interest.” and “An employee shall not…solicit or accept any gift or other item of monetary value from any person or entity seeking official action from, doing business with, or conducting activities regulated by the employee’s agency, or whose interests may be substantially affected by the performance or nonperformance of the employee’s duties.”
4. “Employee offices shall not use public office for private gain.”
5. “Employees shall act impartially and not give preferential treatment to any private organization.”
6. “Employees shall disclose waste, fraud, abuse, and corruption to appropriate authorities.”
7. “Employees shall satisfy in good faith their obligations as citizens, including all just financial obligations, especially those — such as federal, state, or local taxes — that are imposed by law.”
8. “Employees shall endeavor to avoid any actions creating the appearance that they are violating the law or the ethical standards set forth in this part.”

Allowing Trump to hand pick the attorneys who are overseeing investigations of him and his family, after firing a US attorney for doing just that doesn't smack of corruption to you?

It's very abnormal for a sitting Pres to personally interview US attorneys anyway, much less ones who will be investigating him.

You know for a group of people who whined endlessly about Clinton's corruption, you guys sure love supporting Trump's corruption. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Nothing evidences Trumps complicity more than this shabby attempt at obstruction of justice. It is plain for all to see except for the walking brain dead, otherwise known as Trump supporters.
Obstruction of justice is evident as is dereliction in the performance of his duties.

Unfortunately it appears POTUS doesn't even understand what his duties are, much less know know how to competently perform.

"But you didn’t answer the question."

Because it is a stupid question and irreverent.

What reason did Bill Clinton use when he fired ALL 92 at once?

Over a dozen years later the left is concerned about W firing 9. Really?

Where s is the concern abort Bill and HIS firings?

Oh, you don't care about them, as usual.

I think the word "hypocrites" come to mind.

Even Comey admitted, "serves at the PLEASURE of the President and can be fired for ANY REASON or NO reason AT ALL"

Maybe you should retake that government class you slept through in high school, then maybe you woulsn't try to make something out of nothing and look foolish doing it!

"ignorance is bliss", as they say.

Think Progress? Really?

from their oWN website:

"
About

ThinkProgress is a news site dedicated to providing our readers with rigorous reporting and analysis from a progressive perspective."

https://thinkprogress.org/about/

You can also check this site out and see what they have to say on many issues, ALL from the liberal perspective.:

Think Progress - Liberal Website

When the liberals found out many didn't like that term they changed it to "progressive".

same, same!
