well, their men probably don't want that kind of look all the time. just saying.

Honestly, I've never seen a young japanese woman with black hair, they all dye their hair different colors. Maybe it is just their school dress code rules because Japanese teens love to dye their hair funky colors.

Isn't this the opposite of politically correct?

Americans need to worry about their own educational issues.
Do you honestly think that people shouldn't/can't comment on human issues outside of their border?

How far do you want to take this logic?

Martin Luther King Junior: "An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere and silence is the danger."

Nobel Peace Prize Foreigners: "MLK Jr. wins the award for his great work in the US, may it inspire people around the globe to do what they can, where ever around the globe."

DesertedLogic: "Both of you need to zip it, how dare you voice an opinion about something that could extend outside your political border."

"If the Nazi's wanted to round up Jews, who are we to voice an opinion on it. Mind your own business." -DesertedLogic

Person with a heart: "CNN just had a special on kids in Africa being tortured, ostracized, and even killed; because they are thought to be witches. Isn't that sad."

DesertedLogic: "How dare you have an opinion on child witches, if they want to kill the kid witches, it doesn't concern you. 'Merica has its own problems. In fact, CNN shouldn't even report stories outside of its borders, might make someone have an opinion that they voice.

Yes.

Japan has more blatant racism than the US.

Japanese schools get much better results than USA schools. So leave the Japanese schools alone.

I think it is just their dress code, a lot of teens (especially Asians) love to dye their hair crazy colors.

Japanese schools and American schools are just different. (German schools are different too) Not sure if one is better than the other though.

That rule sounds ridiculous to me, and I have black hair naturally.

Still, I'm not Japanese. I can't judge them for a culture I don't fully understand. Their country, their schools, their rules.

I don't know...

I know 2 American teachers of English - they both state that most kids are openly racist, especially against blacks and other Asian groups. One reported it to the Japanese school authority who didn't see a problem with it. I know of people who taught English in South Korea - they say the same thing.

I had a friend in Japan that said a white father and more-white looking daughter were denied service at some sort of a spa, where the Asian mother and more Asian-looking kid weren't.

Plus you constantly hear of stories as seen in the Newsweek article that summarizes a few instances: Japan's Problem With Race

Perhaps I have a misperception, but I believe my close friend that I've known for 30 years that says that kids would openly insult blacks in the classroom if he used pictures of black people in his teaching lessons.

As an American I feel our schools should require uniforms and strict discipline. And like in Japan the school should be cleaned by the students, not janitors. And the schools should celebrate academics, not football or LGBTQIA clubs.
