That's where you mis-step. The initial work for the dossier was paid for as opposition research by a conservative group or media operation (I can't remember the name of it) during the primaries. Without them, it would have never existed.

They didn't need it (perhaps the work wasn't finished until it was too late in the primaries and Trump locked the nominations), so it was offered to the Democrats who were willing to either buy it or pay for the completion of it.

The potentially illegal activity exposed in it mandated reporting the information to the FBI. This is required of anyone, you or I included, if in the process of our studies we discover evidence of potentially criminal or treasonable activity. By not doing so we could be considered accessories after the fact. That thing started circulating and became a big open secret.

Evidently John McCain heard about it, or was shared a look at it, and decided to turn it in. It was in fact his civic duty under the law.

Interesting question.
More of an interesting stretch of the imagination.

The DNC was not the prime mover in this. If you are trying to suggest it is fake news manufactured at the behest of the Democrats you are too late, the conservative group which started the research already revealed their part in it.

Show us 1 SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE to back up your baseless claim.

The left has been making this claim for a year and a half and not ONE person has proven it.

Even dem politicians have stated that they have NOT seen any evidence of it.
Ah, Poppie got sloppy and got caught. Oh, and then there was the meeting with the Russians.

Stupid? Probably not. Arrogant, unquestionably.

I wish they would sticky this thread. This has got to be the funniest attempt by Trumplings to get the attention off their guy I've ever seen!

Speaking of coincidence, is it odd that the FBI interview with Papadopoulos was the same day DJT asked a loyalty pledge from Comey.

I said that from the get go. The Clintons were very friendly with Putin, far more friendly and had far more business dealings with Putin than Trump ever did. So given that Putin and Russia were supporting Hillary and were at best neutral to Trump, they could easily have tried to bait Trump into taking some phony info on Hillary while at the same time trying to get whatever they could on him. They did make up phony stories about Trump at Hillary's behest which has now been revealed. Luckily for Trump the scheme never got very far. Now we have to see if Mueller is going to get indicted himself. For obstruction of justice in NOT going after Hillary and Podesta( who seems to be lawyering up already) or for being involved himself in covering for Comey.

Holy Mackerel! I didn't realize that.

If that is actually so Trump must have heard that very day that George P was interviewed. That news went straight to Trump by some means.

I am sure Comey putting 2 and 2 together knew exactly why that loyalty request came from Trump that day, and he hadn't wanted to be left alone with Trump, previously telling that to Attorney General Sessions to no avail.

Fusion GPS is a smear operation. I heard that former CNN employees work for them and vice versa Would be interesting to find out who. Also they seem to make most of their money overseas by smearing foreign candidates and journalists. One Wall Street Journal writer was investigating someone in Venezuela and was targeted with a smear campaign which accused him of pedophilia, alcoholism and other fake crimes. He's spent something like two years trying to clear his name. This is what GPS does. Nothing to do with reality but plenty to do with money!
