Been an occasional token for 45 years now. The majority of people that know me would probably be surprised by that. Whether it’s legal or not makes no difference to me. But, states that refuse to legalize it must accept the reality that significant revenue is being lost to neighboring states where it is legal.

The governor of Maine has no respect for the will of the people, apparently.
The Washington post is full of S$#&, The bill vetoed by Gov. LePage had nearly nothing to do with the recreational use. Citizens of Maine can still legally grow and smoke there own pot, The vetoed bill concerned the taxation and retail growing and sales regulations.

1) At best, questionable

2) Why should the people allow government to criminalize an act that shouldn't be a crime?

3) Many prescription drugs are poisonous, why should be accept the double standard? Other than the power ($$$) of the BigPharma lobby that is?

I support legalization but legalization needs to be done in DC before the States can regulate retail sales and taxation.

decriminalize it, don't legalize it. Decriminalize essentially enforces the legal use of pot. Do it in private at home not while driving or driving somewhere then using and driving away high.

I don't care if someone grows pot in their backyard and smokes it until they get emphysema. Problem is if they leave home high, driving, working while high and they cause death or pain to others.

What's that baggy on the seat, next to your fully auto AR? No way to instantly check for DUI as with booze. Legal issues abound.

Maine has a DUI problem now with more than its share of one car fatal accidents.

What reason is there to believe someone zonked out on Ambien is less hazardous than someone who smoked a joint?

That's different than with sedatives, anti-depressants, and other prescription meds that can impede driving ability HOW? Once again, that is other than the power ($$$) of the BigPharma lobby?

Why should $$$ alone determine what you can legally put in your own body?

Lets follow that out to a logical conclusion (for the legalize and tax it crowd)- why should the state profit from a persons consumption of a plant?

States profit from tobacco use, alcohol use, etc. This concept is nothing new.
