I don't understand why Leftists who want to save the planet, crow about recycling and organic farming, would object to composting. It's Gardening 101. Are they afraid of thundering herds of earthworms?

If I were spending that kind of money on a house, I'd live far away from neighbors, post "No Trespassing" and "Guard Dogs" signs on the property line as well as motion detector cameras.

What gives you the impression we are against composting? When I owned a house I had a very healthy compost pile. Between that and recycling my family of four threw out less than a bag of garbage a week.

Which, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand.

I don't understand why rightists seem to believe that Paul was above the rules of the HOA that he signed when he moved in. No one put a gun to his head and forced him to enter into that agreement. Did he think those rules only applied to everyone else and not him?

Regardless of what "HOA" rules Paul may have violated he never should have been attacked. The man who did it deserves to pay a big price for his yard rage.
Living in an HOA, especially one that enforces the rules, insures that the community will always retain a neat, consistent look. It keeps the property values high. Being on the HOA Board is a voluntary job and many people do not want to spend the time and effort to volunteer, as with any group. My DH is on the board of our present community. Neither he, nor any of our board members are “dictators.”

I would not live in a neighboard that did not have rules to keep it looking good. Not interested in having boats/trailers parked in the driveways, odd color painted houses, washing machines or refrigerators on the front porch, broken down cars in the front yard, etc.

Whether Senator Paul composts or not, or grows pumpkins or not has nothing to do with the issue at hand which is that his loony left wing neighbor attacked him, causing Paul's 6 broken ribs. The left has been attempting to deflect from the crux of the matter with claims landscaping transgressions.

Since you are the one screeching most about such claims, surely you have copies of warning letters and complaints from the HOA.

Senator Paul growing pumpkins or not is as relevant to his severe injuries as whether a female rape victim wore a short skirt. Why do lefties want to blame the victim?

It doesn't absolve the attack, but it gives us some insight into the kind of neighbor Paul is. Probably not one you'd want living next door.

Any links to that claim that he was a Trump supporter?

Why did you keep avoiding the real issue?

there is, at this point, no evidence the neighbor is loony left.

Whatever the source of the friction both Paul and his assailant are declining to discuss.

We may find out something if the Feds get into the act but so far they have not.

So at the moment we have a minor neighborly skirmish that caused far more damage than one would expect.

So the sensible thing would be to wait until some more information becomes available

You guys have convinced me! Anyone who disobeys their HOA should have the crap beaten out of them by thugs.

That was satire, as the poster I was responding to was insinuating he was a liberal, without any proof whatsoever. Sorry if that didn't come across as such.

Pilgrim asked why liberals hated composting. I responded. That's what one does on a discussion board.

So what's your proof that Paul's attacker was a "loony left winger"?

We're not even sure if Rand Paul disobeyed HOA rules and it really doesn't matter anway because nobody should attack over HOA rules.

Growing pumpkins usually isn't written in HOA rules. Composting might or might not be in the HOA rules.

So much speculation on this matter because people in the neighborhood started talking about these details to the press.

The neighbor knows why he attacked and he probably said something to Rand Paul during the attack. Neither are giving any details. Well, the neighbor's attorney said it wasn't political.

Has anyone heard how Senator Paul is doing the past few days.

Because as so often happens these days, he had a Facebook page!

Reminds of Jay Leno's Tonight Show bits about stupid criminals.
