The incredible thing is these stupid gun grabbing liberals think if you take the guns away from law abiding citizens it will end all of this. I mean how stupid can you get? The criminals will still have and will be able to get guns. The only people that won't have guns is the people that you don't have to worry about to begin with. Remember when they banned liquor?? That really worked out well. Nobody would touch a drink. LOL!!
Guns are made for killing. You have to take them out every once in awhile and practice. The odds of them being 100's of millions here in the States and NOT having monthly mass murders are quite low. Of course, this is in addition to the regular ole murders, suicides, horrible injuries, etc.
I'm that holdout guy. Shot a rifle since I was 7, won awards at military school, etc. and I hope to never own a firearm. I do have some bear spray tho - just got it. I think it may help if a dog comes after me...or even a human.
Come to think of it, a small flame thrower might be neat. Problem is, the house will need serviced afterwards.
...
Give teachers access to the tools of defense...
OK, I live in the country geographically and historicaly very different from US, and therefore avoid this widespread gun discussions... still the quoted bit struck me as one-sided.
This source tells me that roughly one quarter of US owns all its guns.
However, here's the problem - why do you assume that most teachers would be thrilled by your proposal or at least ready to accept it? Let me remind you, 75% of US has no weapons. Since it is relatively easy to obtain them in your country, why do you think most of them don't have any?
IF you really think about it, aren't you now trying to impose something you love or like to someone who may well be horrified by it? Only to avoid people looking for solutions while going in the direction you like less.
We need to eliminate churches, which are nothing but convenient targets for anyone with a gun and a screw loose when they are full of people. They can pray in the privacy of their homes.
This is a joke, right? Any public place could fit that description.
The incredible thing........ The only people that won't have guns is the people that you don't have to worry about to begin with. Remember when they banned liquor?? That really worked out well. Nobody would touch a drink. LOL!!
The really incredible thing is your lack of being able to understand and see things in context.
A BIG organization started called MADD. They had laws changed and they fought on many fronts for "gun (booze) control". They were were supported by the citizenry.
Bar tenders and other servers now have laws- responsibilities - when they serve.
The largest carnage caused by such drinking is/was on the roads. Manufacturers have spent 10's of billions of dollars doing research and engineering to make sure that most crashes (caused by booze...I think 1/2 or more are) are survivable by not only the perp...but the innocent victims.
So, tell you what - when the NRA passes out helmets and flak vests to the population at large you can talk to me about all you have done to avoid mass murders. Until then you are guilty.
What's your deal? I think Bob is in agreement with you about guns. Just guessing...
I'll go back and re-read....but initially....nope, he is going directly against me.
ETA.................
