You also need to look at societal value. It's an over-sized cat. We have these "outdoor" cats where I live that run around and wreck things. They dig through garbage, poop in gardens, mate, and kill birds. Not much value there.
It sounds like your area has some irresponsible cat owners. I strongly doubt it has any snow leopards.

Which ones?

The ones who hunt legally or illegally?

Snow leopard no longer 'endangered' - BBC News
You used the term 'endangered'. Not me. I never have an opinion on the value of the snow leopard

It was listed as endangered until recently. I am so sorry that my terminology is not current enough to meet with your approval. Animals listed as "vulnerable" are still pretty rare, and far too precious to be shot by idiots who would be just as well-served by a prescription for Viagra.

More specifically these vermin who spend 100K on an exhibition that involves an endangered animal losing its life when it was probably the strongest and smartest to make it to adulthood and the best chance for survival of its species. All so some putz can take selfies.

Hey, I agree! And I am not against hunting as a concept so that short circuits that particular strawman.

Why quote me if you don't answer the question?

Legal and regulated trophy hunts are GOOD for animals.

That doesn't seem to change the fact that you don't appear to understand trophy hunts.

I understand that hunting down endangered species for an ego boost is despicable behavior. What exactly is it that you think I don't understand?
