Heartbreaking ending for such a young boy. It's so odd that the father rented a 14-year-old boy his own apartment to live alone. There's probably something very suspicious about that arrangement. If only he could have stayed with his former foster mom who seemed to care about him.

Here's a local article which is a little more clear than the poorly written yahoo piece.

What a horrible, horrible thing to read this morning.

As a parent, I could NEVER imagine doing anything to harm or kill my children. These kinds of stories break my heart, because (IMHO) this father would never have excepted his son for who he was and this kid would have had a miserable life around this man (had he never killed him).

I have a friend who is so terrified of coming out to his family because they say all the time to him and his siblings, that god hates gays and it is an abomination. Gay people, according to my friends mother, are evil and will be dealt with accordingly.

He is just living as a straight man until he can move out on his own.

This headline is pretty questionable. The former foster mom says other family members told her this and that and so on. Hearsay. The father says it was an accidental shooting.

Yes, that is why I posted a link to the local media. The yahoo article put quotation marks leading people who skim a headline to believe it was a direct quote from the father rather than what a former foster mom imagined he said. That said, I do think the father is guilty.

Father Kills 14 Year-Old Son: 'He Would Rather Have a Dead Son Than a Gay Son'

What a deranged and evil thought.
