Default A good thing Nazi Germany and Soviet Union dont exist. These UCLA youths should be lucky!

We all know that three black teens who played basketball for UCLA were arrested in Peoples Republic of China for stealing cheap one dollar sun glasses. Such penalties in America is very minor and maybe a small infraction of jail time. But in socialist left leaning countries like Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, todays North Korea, such penalties can lock individuals up for decades at a time, doing hard labor, if not labor than death. With that said, we should be fortunate that such regimes like the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany don't exist. Such young black youths would have been a huge political scapegoating in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, hell maybe even in North Korea. These three young men would have either been gassed, locked up for more than a decade, or doing hard labor in a gulag for stealing glasses. The US needs to do a better job to inform people when traveling to socialist countries. Last, I'm no fan of Donald Trump, but Trump got those young black men released, thus this proves that he is not a racist that many on the liberal left claims him to be. I hope these three young men learned their lesson and be thankful that this did not happen in North Korea, or worse if the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany still existed.

UCLA suspended them indefinitely, which is pretty serious. This is not a minor thing. Their basketball careers could be ruined.

Maoist China actually supported civil rights in the USA and claimed that the US was a racist imperialist entity. More likely than not, they would have been let go in the name of solidarity.
