Carrier, which struck a deal with President Trump last year with to keep jobs at its Indianapolis plant, is reportedly planning more layoffs at the facility.
More than 200 more employees will lose their jobs in January, Fox News reported.
Robert James, the president of the union that represents plant workers, said employees "just don't have any faith in this plant staying in Indianapolis."
I feel badly for those who put their faith in trump thinking he would save them. He's nothing but a con an and cares nothing for these people.
As usual Trump made a big show, took credit for a bad deal that Mike Pence made. The taxpayers of Indiana should be pissed.
The same thing is currently happening in Wisconsin with Foxconn.
Go read the thread about the Pennsylvania Trump voters who know he lied about jobs coming back to their area but still love him. You don't put a dent in cultist mentality with the truth.
Competitive business. Carrier is up against some heavy hitters that produce outstanding products. My home system is a carrier. I look at my friend's system and feel mine came out of the 50's even though t was brand-new in 2002. His was installed a year after mine. I travel a lot. I see what they have over seas and am amazed Dieken makes a great product as does Mitsubishi.
Maybe Carrier is on the way out or automation has resulted in the need for less employees. Should Carrier just keep employees regardless of need? The factory I work in has 800 less employees today than when I was hired. No layoffs, just greater reliability and automation.
Spare me the fake outrage until you guys start to comprehend the problems with Solyndra
Nope, this is new news per Fox news
Quote:
Less than four months after it laid off nearly 340 employees at its Indianapolis factory, Carrier announced that 215 more employees will be terminated on Jan. 11
I'll admit Solyndra was a bust, will you admit this was a bust? No.
Less than four months after it laid off nearly 340 employees at its Indianapolis factory, Carrier announced that 215 more employees will be terminated on Jan. 11
Thats 555 employees, they projected laying off 630, so using Democratic math, this means 75 jobs were saved...
Needs of the business v.s a straight up scam?
If carrier doesn't need those 200 employees, they don't need them. It would be stupid to keep them. If that plant is under performing then they needed to change how they do things. This is the nature of business.
