He should’ve had his case overturned given the circumstances, but he also should’ve been SEVERELY prosecuted. I can’t believe that an NCO did something so damn stupid.

One thing my platoon sergeants always taught us was that if you find yourself in combat, you ALWAYS respect your enemy’s sacrifice the way you’d want him to respect yours. The Taliban are fighting invaders of their country. We have our reasons for being there (stupid as they may be), but peeing on a dead body is incredibly stupid. Especially letting it get out on video or pics. Idiot.

Doing what they did made our efforts even harder, and could be reasonably seen to aid the enemy.

The actions of the general that caused the case to be overturned is disturbing as well.

Stupid, yes, especially from an NCO. That said it is war, bad things happen and are done, we cannot expect those involved to be too overly sympathetic towards those that had been trying to kill them and may have killed some of their friends and soldiers. War is ugly and it is why those that have done it do not relish the idea of doing it more.

True...but I’m still mindful that the Taliban have a right to fight invaders. We are invaders.

That aside, posting up that video on YouTube is tragically stupid. I would’ve burned him for it too. Hard!

You know the taliban isn't representative of a country any more than hired guns here that will fight for a paycheck.

Agreed. I think we all expect our service men and women to serve our country honorably. There was no honor in this act.

PS. I also understand sometimes people do things out of anger that they would not have normally done. I don't know just what that man may have been through over there. Perhaps anger clouded his judgment. Not saying that would excuse the act, just offering up a possible reason why.

Yeah, I’m sure the Taliban treats our dead soldiers much better.

This is what liberals get outraged over.
