Looks like the band aid did not work. American’s citizens have been forgotten - they say at least 400 are in one mortuary to be cremated but not part of that famous hurricane casualty list. Do we have no shame.

If Whitefish energy had not been chased out of PR by the vengeful liberal mayor of San Juan they would have continued the repairs and perhaps this would not have happened. But, since Mayor ***** **** cares more about her agenda than she does about the people of Puerto Rico the process has been set back by months. Of course, she will blame Whitefish to deflect from her own ineptness and corruption. As someone who lived through Super Storm Sandy in zone A power would come and go at times weeks after the storm. The neighborhood was being powered by one transformer. It happens.

My thoughts, exactly. You had a company on the ground that was dedicated to doing good work (using local labor) where other companies weren't ready. But, due to politics, they were pushed aside. PR seems to like shooting itself in the foot.

If it is proved that Whitefish's work was not the fault of this failure, they should sue the crap out of Vox and anyone else that besmirched them for political or other reasons. There is a huge attempt to use the media to cause this company to fail.

I don’t have any shame. I don’t expect Puerto Ricans to help me when my power goes out.

...or are white colonizers supposed to feel guilty when the brown people can’t take care of themselves?

Wrong. The one who had the contract cancelled was the Governor Ricardo Roselló. The mayor of San Juan doesn’t have that kind of power. She’s just another POS hack. A mayor doesn’t out rank a governor.

The governor’s father, Dr Pedro Roselló was Governor of the island from 1993 to 2001. His administration was known for its outrageous corruption. So, today’s Governor cannot afford to be associated with anything that has the slightest smell of corruption otherwise, they’ll say the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Even Roselló junior could smell the stench of the Whitefish contract. It was a pay off to a Republican donor. Otherwise known as “pay for play”.

The article says it will be repaired tonight or tomorrow morning. It happens, especially with all that is going on.

That Puerto Rico had been restored 40 percent as of today since Maria is great. Here in the VI, we have around the same in St. Thomas and we have been out since Irma. St. John has less. Same with St. Croix.
