That says "shot and killed". In most defensive uses of a gun, no one is shot at all. The gun is enough to stop the attempted assault, robbery , etc.

And yet thousands and thousands of US citizens are still shot to death every year.........meanwhile in the UK about 50-60 people are shot to death every year, with stats like this against you trying to argue that guns reduce death by firearms is like trying to argue that black is white. You will just have to get back to me when the rate in the US is equivalent to here (considering the population difference it will need to be about 300 and not 20'000)! I don't expect I will be hearing from you anytime soon!

You are comparing the UK with about 65,000,000 people to the U.S. with 330,000,000 and are surprised there are more homicides in the U.S.? Wow. Firearms don't commit "gun deaths", people do. Does the UK have the same number of large cities, with gang violence?
