As is seen everyday, govt police cannot protect you, nor do they have any mandate to do so. They are bureaucrats with guns and any interaction with them presents its own possibility for personal harm.

Yep and people forget that the SC held up a decision that states

There's always good guys with guns defending life and/or property. It just doesn't make national headlines.
The barbershop incident in South Carolina, a concealed carry patron and the barber thwarted evil. The crazed loon that attacked a Florida sheriff and went for the sheriff's weapon, passerby in a car thwarted that guy.
That's great. But no matter how many good guys with guns win these battles, I will never be converted. I refuse to own a gun out of principle. And I don't feel like my decision makes me any less of a man. I workout, I'm very handsome, have nice straight teeth, and do fine with the women.
Who on this board has advocated confiscating handguns from people's homes and private businesses?
