Pretty ones with Paddington Bear on them. When their mothers come to pick them up from school instead of SVU's every parent should drive a Sherman tank, one with a big **** off canon on the front to deter any nutter that might like to take a pot shot, and if you need to go to the supermarket on your way home simply mount a semi automatic on to every trolley (cart) so that when the next teenager who is so upset about his acne that he snaps comes in fully armed he can be taken out by the 'good' guys (mothers) before he gets around to killing 3 or 4 innocent people at most. There job done, what you need is MORE guns, bigger guns, vigilantes, armoured vehicles (and perhaps a grenade or two) and you could all live happily in the knowledge that your government won't 'dare' starting on you and you will be safe from Canadian invasion. You can then all laugh at the rest of the developed world because they won't be allowed to walk about armed like a WWII infantryman and they will have to go about their business in 'normal' cars and buses and they will be woefully inadequate at combat and survival techniques (that may be needed the next time they are in Tesco's).
This is the kind of existence we're heading to in this country, because we have ceded our freedom to people who value guns more than they value human lives.

Huh? Ummm...Ok then. That quoted post was pretty wild. You actually envision that aye? Well, the police, who are supposed to be our never fail defenders, failed miserably (yet again) to preempt a nut case. They had all the authority and opportunity they needed to collar this creep.

If we are to give up the right to arms, ceding that only to the police and military, the police need to show they can actually do something about the predators. So far, no joy. I haven't seen anyone advocating turning schools into forward fire bases and transporting the kids in armored troop transports.

If we can get past all this strident silliness we might get something figured out. Unfortunately every body wants to stand on their superior moral positions and yell at each other. Meanwhile the real problems slink away. Yet again...

Yes, I was going to tell easthome not to encourage them, they think this kind of scenario is a good thing.

Like I posted before, it didn’t take equal response and more guns to stop the shooter at the school. They simply locked the doors and he couldn’t get in.

Another nut let loose with a semi.

When will we learn the NRA does not have the best interests of the population.

People are never going to understand that the role of police is to investigate a crime that has already been committed, not to prevent all crimes from happening in the first place. When seconds matter, the police will be there in minutes.

And that's not LEO's fault. We just simply cannot have an armed LEO guard for every US citizen/legal immigrant 24/7.

NRA would have to budge at a certain point. It would have to reach extreme levels like 3 Vegas incidents in a week

Guns do not protect freedom in this country, they take it away. That is the reality. When schools and churches need to be armed fortresses, there is no freedom. We all jut live in a big prison of which there is no escape. The inmates control the asylum here, in this case the NRA and gun nuts.

Well its getting closer. We only need 3 or 4 nuts with guns.

Think maybe if you have domestic violence issues the courts should take your guns. Kind of like loosing your passport to keep you from leaving the country.

This would remove the chance of hurting themselves as well as others.
