He did something far far worse: He trivialized this behavior and enabled other creeps like himself to engage in this behavior.
Before any more comments from the left regarding right wing foibles, the left must throw Franken under the bus.

How quickly things change when it's a Democrat involved! Shades of Bill Clinton!

This just shows that this is a problem that's beyond party affiliation.

I haven't read through all the posts, so forgive me if this is a duplicate. For all the defenders, if it wasn't so bad, why is he apologizing?

Two weeks ago I would have voted no. But in light of the Roy Moore to-do I voted yes. To an impartial observer, the allegations seem equally well supported.

He is apologizing because she was sleeping and he was sexually demeaning her, possible touching her while she was defenseless. He should apologize. The only people defending his actions are the nutsos on one side (and there are the same on the other too).
He also forced his tongue down her throat.
I am sure if he did this to her, others will follow. Probably at least 5.
Tomorrow a new man will go down. And so on.
Maybe the accusers can alternate days. Republican assaulter, Democrat assaulter.. that way all the defenders of these creeps can keep their blinders nice and shiny and ready to spin...

Because he's not a liar and he takes responsibility for his actions. And he has empathy.
