I think the biggest difference is that Franken knows what he did was wrong and admitted to it. Not that what it did should be swept under the rug but it's a step in the right direction.
You know, I hope he doesn't resign as his running for reelection will make that seat an easier pickup for the GOP vs. if he resigned and another Dem was appointed in his place.

Only okay to a STAGE kiss, not some full on French kiss. The tongue insertion wasn't needed for a stage kiss. Him inserting his tongue into her mouth was unwanted penetration and the mingling of saliva (body fluids). Whatever the skit was, actual tongue penetration wasn't needed. Actors can kiss open mouth and not have to use tongue.
Again, that was a physical and sexual assault on his part.
I see that most of the people who support Trump and/or conservative positions here have joined feminists calling for Franken's head in this trivial kissing/comedic groping matter. Big mistake. Everyone, including women, loses if society moves toward SJW-style puritanism.
I think that Stuart Smally should stay in the Senate; he's good for laughs.
He would just be replaced with a reliable lockstep Democrat vote anyway.
