This is the power of really expensive lawyers. Its how OJ got away.

Sadly it is a good indicator of how justice works in America. With enough money you can buy whatever justice you want.

Let us be serious: Since all members of Congress engage in such activity, or something similar, is it really 'fraud'?

Isn't it more of the 'usual course of business'?

Pay close attention to this Senator's next moves.
His biggest contributor is the trial lawyers association.

Hope the government tries him again.

If not for the last court decision in MD, RM would be in an orange jumpsuit where he belongs.

This is the guy who said the appointment of holder to usag would be the 1st novelty appointment and restore the trust in the DOJ that was lost under GWB.

So much for judgement, the guy is a loser.

Ok, that's actually amusing. Whheeeee, let's just assume everyone walking into Congress is already corrupt. The old 'presumption of innocence thing' is soooo 20th century old school.

But, I kind of like it. We get a whole lot hassle out of the way if we just nail 'em as soon as they're elected cuz, you know, they must be corrupt to be in Congress in the first place.

Funny......and sad.

He had multiple charges against him. When the jury couldn't come to a verdict, the prosecutor asked if the judge could tell them to come to an agreement for any of the charges. Did he do that?

I feel that an IQ test is required for jury duty. This was so obvious.

I don't like it, but that's the way it goes.

10 to 2, as I understand it, in favor of acquittal. Maybe they can get him to agree to a plea deal, but even as a Republican I feel like we should move on. He has been disgraced and maybe that's the best that can be done.
Unfortunately, Menendez promised revenge so he may not be all that smart. Doesn't look like he can win reelection...... Bye, Bob.

Now, about Hillary.......

This isn't some conspiracy...

They're still free to have another trial.
sorry final but LS is right, unless you have proof that the DNC contacted the jurors directly and convinced some of them to vote to acquit menendez, in which case that would be jury tampering, and would in fact cause the DNC far more problems than anything going on now on both sides.

senator menendez is not out of the woods yet. he could be retried on the same charges, or not. the state might even change the charges in a new trial. and dont forget that menendez will still have to face a senate ethics committee.

and not having seen any of the evidence for or against him, nor any testimony for or against him, i can only accept the juries decision, and accept the fact that he is, until proven guilty, innocent of the charges against him.

I wonder if he considers the free stuff work his trouble now.

Of course, this is small potatoes. Our Predator-in-Chief is using his office in various "illegal" ways to enrich himselfs and his friends in ways that make Menendez look like an Uber tip (or lack thereof).

Innocent until proven guilty when it comes to "the law" but most of us have two eyes with some grey matter between them and know the score. As the Abscam Senator actually said "money talks, BS walks". That's capitalist politics and it's resulted in 20+ trillion that they put in their pockets and WE owe.

have you got proof of your allegations against trump? and what if the charges against clinton are true, that she helped facilitate the selling of uranium to the russians? and what about obama, does he get a pass for "enriching" himself during his tenure as president? does bill clinton get a pass? remember the stimulus package that obama pushed through congress in 2009? most of that money went to pay off his campaign donors, and not to shovel ready jobs, which obama later admitted were not there in the first place.
