I just love it when hypocrites have their world crash down on them (regardless of political affiliation in these types of cases).
I used to always think it a ridiculous cliche that movie characters that were outwardly homophobic, were in fact closeted gays ("American Beauty" as an example).
Now I just realized those screen writers were just astute about human psychology.
I learned at a very young age that the people who thump the Bible the hardest are generally the worst sinners. I saw Elders in our church who were having affairs and then they would preach Sunday school and tell us how to live a better life. That is why I believe in God but do not partake in formal religious activities or go to church.
I have seen too many people who sin all week and repent on Sunday, then do it all over again the next week.
Jesus spoke of such Christians and the new testament warns those who do such things. GOD IS NOT MOCKED.

Well, if there was a God, wouldn't he or she be punishing all those people and not allowing them to influence others?
Tough question......the questions of the ages. I can say that if I were the Lord I wouldn't let that stuff happen.
I find it sad that people still live in denial of their sexuality in this day and age. Or that they feel they have to. My grandfather was gay. He lived his whole life in denial. It literally drove him crazy. He never did come out. He thought he died along with his secret. He lost the love and respect of all of his children because of it. Apparently, he thought he was going to hell. He left his family and went to live with monks in a poor attempt to right himself. My mother always said it was his catholic upbringing that turned him crazy. He must have felt god would not accepted him.
I would hope if he lived today, he would have lived his life proudly.
