Exactly. I don't live there, but the South Dakotans overwhelmingly voted for Trump and this pipeline, so they get what they voted for. It's ground pollution (not air), so why should any non-South Dakota resident care?
This post perfectly encapsulates the difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals see the oil spill and see despoiling and pollution of the environment not to mention potential harm to nearby residents. Conservatives see the oil spill as someone else's problem and could care less if they can save a nickel..
I'm liberal, but if these people want to live in a wasteland, they should. Who am I to impose my judgement 2,000+ miles away?

Because if it goes unpunished it could well spread elsewhere.

The pipeline crossed Native American lands and they staged protests that the pipeline would leak and pollute their land. You may consider SD a wasteland they do not. I further take issue that if one considers an area a wasteland, who cares if it is despoiled. Well, that is just short sighted.
What form of transportation do you endison for petroleum with no leaks?
How about those that do leak on US lands so that Canadian Oil Companies scan make Billions in oil sales through export to other countries around the world, not the US.
The poster clearly states that pollution in SD was some else's problem, and as far as saving a nickel goes it has to do with supporting a pipe line whose environmental consequences would out weigh its benefits.
If you dont want to enjoy the benefits, sell your vehicle, and shut off your computer right now.. dont be a hypocrite..

Outside of anyone who lives within 10-20 miles which is all of 100 people it won't even affect anyone in the state. We need pipelines so I fail to see what the alternative would be.
Many lefties literally fly 250,000+ miles per year and then go whining about the environment. Such hypocrites. How do you think the jet fuel gets there? Why would you want to use fuel to transport fuel? Use a pipeline.
