What are modern Evangelicals? What do they believe? If anything. They seem to just be a PAC for the GOP. In 2017, Evangelicals will defend to the death politicians who are or are alleged to be rapists, pedophiles, swindlers, con men, people who claim to love 2 Corinthians, war mongers,

The only thing I've seen Evangelicals vehemently stand up against is abortion.

As for the Evangelicals who do genuinely despise politicians who do ungodly things, why do they continue to sit back and allow politicians to use their beliefs for votes? What are Evangelicals really getting out of this deal? Who's playing who? It's as if Republicans know they can break all the commandments but keep Evangelical support as long as they say they're pro-life. And it's as if Evangelicals know they can support what goes against the Word as long as they get a kickback in the form of tax exemptions and influence.

So, today's Evangelism:
Religious movement or PAC?
Genuine or fraudulent?
About God or about power?
Love for all or us vs. them?
True believers or RINOs (religious in name only)?

I have noticed this very same thing. Coincidentally just mentioned the abortion issue in this regard on another thread.

If you are not aware (tons of articles to google), millennials are leaving the church in droves. I have talked to all my religious friends and they have told me how difficult it is to get young people to attend.

Young people complain of the 1) hypocrisy, 2) the cult like environment and 3) all the money the mega preachers pull in (due to PACS).

IT’S A RACKET!

It’s always been a business. Those “preachers” only believe in money...their money.

Any Evangelicals I have known were in it merely for the power. If God is on their side, they can win arguments without knowing anything. They don't even have to think. That's why they are so easily brainwashed by the silly talk radio spin hosts.

I don't think of it so much as a religion but as a way of controlling people. And their "preachers" use it to also make a ton of money.

Truly religious people attend regular churches, not extremist cult-type organizations.
