ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) Training

I think it's great these sessions are taking a proactive stand vs our typical reactive mode. It's just sad we've come to the point we have to teach Duck'n'Cover (and all) to keep ourselves safe.

I think it is really sad but in an ever increasing violent world we do need to be vigilant, it is just common sense.
Being aware does not mean that we are on the look out for active shooters but it could also be some idiot with a knife, a suicide vest, backpack bomb or even some fool that is drunk, high or checking facebook as they drive down the street.

I think it is wise to be prepared.

Are you just seeing these? Most major firearms training groups have taught these classes since the 1990's.

Being prepared is not a bad thing. The fact is our planet has some evil people on it, nothing is ever going to stop that, no law, no bans etc. Evil people do bad things, being prepared is just one step on hopefully never being a victim.

Um, we've been here for decades. We needed something to replace nuclear fallout drills.

Yes I'm just now seeing these, and no, I've not been hiding under a rock.

Sounds like their business will be making a killing these days.

I agree, if anyone would deal with the mental health issues associated with all the mass shootings and the criminals responsible for almost all the rest of homicides then this might not be necessary, but we have to deal with the world as it Is not how we want it to be.
