If I want info about any of Trump admin's financial policies I look to business news as they are less political and deal with numbers, not feelings.

Let mainstream media consume themselves with rage and bitterness about vanilla ice cream and Melania's stilettos.

Funny how that assessment changed when Donny got his trademark approvals.

No one pays the statutory rate.

The US has a reasonable competitive effective tax rate.

China, like the US, taxes on world wide income.

Goldman Sachs and China sovereign wealth fund plan on investing in US manufacturing. 5 billion.
And all of it will be automated.

Look, it’s time to let manufacturing die (as a viable career). There’s no way a human can work as fast, as cheaply, or as accurately as a machine. Any human-done manufacturing will be in third world countries with no labor or safety standards. In the developed world, the only jobs related to manufacturing will be the jobs at the companies that make the machines and robots.

Corporations seek tax rates, yes. But they also seek things like stability which... not so much lately. They seek peers which is why NYC and CA still have companies locating there despite crazy laws, regulations and taxes... etc

You do realize one plant, no matter how automated makes a huge economic footprint where ever it is built. First off infrastructure needs to be built or updated to handle all the materials being shipped in and out. That takes civil engineers, and contracting companies. Then building the plant itself, this takes architectural firms and more contracting companies. And in each one of these steps you have to figure all the people involved. Each one of them eats, needs to bank, needs to fuel their vehicles etc.
Now to get the plant up and running, you need many different trades , engineers and designers. To keep the plant running you again need trades and manufacturing engineers.
So having a manufacturing plant going up on US soil is very much a good thing. It amazes me how short sighted some people can be...."her der, but robots though ?! "

Ummm, some of these "deals" have been in the works for years and still nothing, so until this actually takes place it is still Pie in the Sky. So how is Carrier doing, any more layoffs, Christmas is coming?
