Are going through the roof! Has anyone seen their increases yet? If you don't work for a larger company it is becoming astronomical for the middle class...disgraceful.

Ours went up 40 a month which is a jump for us. It would be nice if costs would stop increasing.

If enough people are outraged enough and start making it a real issue with their Senators and Congressmen, they'll take a second look at a one payer system. It's the only way that will happen. Otherwise, they won't care and you're screwed. BTW, working for a larger company helps but even then the insurance provided is many times mediocre at best and you end up having to pay thousands out of pocket if you get sick enough.

^^^ after all, this was the Democrats plan in the first place. Write law that causes the premiums to skyrocket (screw the American people) so they can claim to save the people with single payer.

People were getting screwed everyday by insurance companies way before the Dems plan kicked in. The biggest cause for bankruptcy is and has been for a long time medical expenses even for people that have done everything right and had insurance.

Here's what the most progressive Governor in the country said after 4 years of trying to do it.

"The lesson was: I was wrong," Shumlin said. "I don't think small states can go it alone, at least little states like Vermont, with an unstable federal partnership."

Vermont's single-payer plan, called Green Mountain Care, would have required an 11.5 percent payroll tax on businesses, plus an additional state income tax of up to 9.5 percent. The plan would have covered about 94 percent of Vermonters' health care costs, on average, not including adult vision or dental coverage.

Many Americans who pay thousands for medical insurance out of pocket with huge deductibles would consider that a bargain.

Addressing the costs of healthcare has to happen soon. People will stop purchasing it if it gets too high, and will just take their chances.
