It's actually great fun and I feel great if I can get a smile out of a woman. A few weeks ago I was in Seattle and I took the bus up. There was a 20 something black girl in the drivers seat with a beautiful toothy smile. As I was walking to sit down I said to her "If you could package that smile you wouldn't be driving this bus".
I made her day.
I've seen women in elevators that have short, colored hair. I just tell them it looks cute and different and they don't bite my head off, they appreciate it. I got a picture of my granddaughter and a woman dressed like Malificent (complete with headgear) at Comicon. I saw her and said it was really awesome, very realistic and looked great. My grandaughter started asking questions and next thing i know we were taking pictures. My daughter gave her a subway card. Her costume was truly a work of art.
I say things, small things and it really seems to me women do appreciate being noticed for their efforts or their attributes and above all it seems they don't hear it enough. Wolf whistles and "hey babies" all the time but what about something that makes them feel good? Something with depth? Something she doesn't hear 100 times a day? Just in passing?
People being nice should be appreciated I get this a lot too even from teenagers. I must seem approachable. Compliments I am totally ok with. Not sure why some would have a problem with that. Many men have told me they know nobody wakes up that way and they like to compliment any woman for their efforts. Some recognize society is not fair to women. We are not trying to objectify ourselves - a lot of how we dress is based on societal expectation or simply personal expression. No one is trying to pick anyone up in these cases. Just being nice. I can see from your post you see the difference.
At what point did I say it was okay to assault someone? Please highlight the specific text in my post.
There are indeed consequences to what anyone wears be it a man or a woman. It's an unfortunate part of human nature. You seem to want to legislate an emotion or a reaction. You can't do that. Men and women have the right to think whatever they want about how another person is dressed. If you don't want to be thought of as a tramp don't dress like one. That goes for anyone, male or female.
Hey, you can think anyone is a tramp but that does not give you the right to take advantage of them. Control yourself and keep your pants zipped. This is not human nature. Why would you even say that
Actually they seem to be advocating burkas. Ironic isn't it? They'll bash muslims for how women are supposed to cover up, and then basically say the same thing.
Most of the women I know dress for themselves--not for men.
If men can't control themselves, they should stay home, stay away from the beach, from bars, etc. and stick to 'proper church socials where woman don't get too 'gussied up'.

Again, please show me where I said it's ok to take advantage of people or mistreat them. I'm still waiting on you to show me where I said it was okay to assault people.
We're talking thoughts here and perceptions, not actions. Huge difference. I have the right to form any opinion of anyone I choose based on their personality, actions, and yes even their mode of dress. I'm sorry you don't like it but that's my right and I exercise it...often! And I will continue to do so.
I've always heard the saying, "dress for the job you want.
If you want to be treated like a Go, then dress like one. If you want to be treated respectfully, then dress yourself in a respectable manner.
For a man, if you don't want people to treat you like a thug, don't dress like a thug.
I'm a woman, but I think it's ridiculous that some women will put on a really low cut top and then complain that men are looking at their chest. Just stupid.
Besides dressing for themselves, women also dress for, and compete with, each other. Nancy loses 20 lbs. You don't think she is going to want to dress to the 9's to show off to other women? Look at me now! I look better than you do. Make them jealous, especially if she has been the target of their snide remarks about her weight.

Exactly!
