WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's charitable foundation, which last year admitted that it violated federal rules on "self-dealing," is in the process of dissolving, according to newly filed documents reviewed by NBC News.

In one section of the 2015 form, as The Washington Post first reported, the IRS asked whether the Trump Foundation had transferred "income or assets to a disqualified person." A disqualified person could be Trump — the foundation's president — or a member of his family or a Trump-owned business, The Post reported.
In 2015, the foundation checked yes. For 2016, the foundation checked no.

The statement did not clarify the means in which he planned to continue his charitable interests.
Trump has not donated to the foundation since 2008 but it has received tens of millions of dollars during the past 10 years.

How in the hell does a foundation set up to help others in need, become a piggybank for the fat guy with his name on it? It's being closed down as a result of the hot breath of the New York Attorney General being felt by Trump and his crime family!

He will go down as the most corrupt President EVER and this is just the beginning.

I guess the NY AG's investigation has been completed. They couldn't officially shut down until the investigation was complete.

According to Rachel Maddow last night, the Trump Foundation is still under investigation so they will not be able to shut it down.

I saw that article to on Sunday. Today they are announcing the shutdown is moving forward? I was confused by the OP starting this topic.

I don't know. It's clear they would like to shut down the foundation, probably to escape from the fact that Trump has been using charity money to pay (some of) his legal bills. Who knows what else they will uncover. I'm sure Trump would love the Foundation to disappear.

The Trump "Foundation" was nothing more than a criminal enterprise.

The media went over this with a fine tooth comb during the election, and turned up nothing but some hit pieces that were easily debunked.

We'll see if the NY AG finds anything BTW, this AG was reported by Trump for trying to extort money from Ivanka, he seems to have it out for Trump.

Meanwhile, things are really piling up against the Clinton Foundation, it's getting to the point that it will be very hard not to proscute.

Check out the live stream broadcast of "Sunday with Charles" for the latests on the Clinton Foundation fraud.

I could be wrong but, I think it had to be shuttered to avoid any possible pay to play accusations. But, legally since it's under investigation it can't be shut down. That's why the OP that started this thread has confused me. OP's post leads us to think that the foundation is hutting down, that would mean the investigation is completed.

The Trump foundation is a scam and a fraud just like Trump. He used it as his personal account.
