Thanksgiving to my family is a holiday, no special significance. We gather and enjoy good food and time spent together. Quite honestly I don't give a rats azz about the history of it, nor do I preach to others what it's about. To each their own.

Where does God come into this? Again if you make something up it doesn't necessarily make it true.
God came into everything the original settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony did. They were extremely religious and there is no doubt that Thanksgiving Day was intended as thanks to God.

Makes sense. Voting for Trump was a moral failing. I rather not have anything to do with my family who voted for him. If they didn't like Clinton, they could have voted third party or not at all.

Well there you go. I will not be giving thanks to a God tomorrow. Never have, never will.

They manipulated me into ex-gay conversion therapy in my twenties which didn't work. I am the only one out of my family or extended family that doesn't drink the religious koolaid.

Still, I am going to grit my teeth and deal with it for a weekend. I wouldn't think of ruining Thanksgiving.
Seriously dude, you need to move away from Oklahoma. You’ll be much happier. But have a happy Thanksgiving with your family. I’m sure they love you no matter what. They just need to accept that God makes people the way they are, and any God that would punish them for it isn’t a loving God. But I’ve had my experience with fundamentalists, so I know how they are.

And how has your world changed since Trump became president?
