Meh. I’m not much of a shopper, but I do love Black Friday at Home Goods. It’s one of the few days that I have absolutely nothing to do, so I go when the family is still sleeping off their food hangover. The store opens at 7:00 and is always empty that morning (because they don’t have a Black Friday sale), while the masses are at the mall or the big box stores. I went this morning, was offered a free cup of coffee and cider donut, did my shopping in blissful peace, payed without waiting on a line, and was back home before 10am.
I’ll do the rest of my shopping online, while I’m at work.

I'm going on my annual trip with my best friend- we go out for Indian food and to an art supply store. And that's it. The worst part of the whole thing is the driving, but I just watch out for weirdos and try to take back roads as much as possible. You couldn't pay me to take part in the whole, "camp outside of Best Buy" nonsense. It sounds like Hell to me.
The holidays have steadily become one of the most wasteful seasons, money spent on needless items in search of happiness. We over consume, over spend and neglect the important things in life.
I just love Black Friday. The thrill of it all. The hustle of getting there. Getting up in the wee hours of the morning ,driving at the speed of light, then running my legs off getting in line , then waiting for hours in anticipation of wondering if I can avoid getting trampled to death running for that article I can't live without. A new gizmo, the latest model I can proudly own for six weeks till the next latest model comes out. Oh how cutting edge as I empty my wallet for the big designer who gets rich as their name is blazened all over it and strut with snooty rapport in front of everyone. My credit card stretched to the limit and paying 24% interest because I have an ego that has to be fed. Oh how wonderful it is going broke for the next twelve months as struggling to pay for it all is such a blast.
