What is the end goal behind this lower standard and why do we as a society overwhemingly give the accusers the benefit of the doubt when false accusations are not at all uncommon?

Has the need for actual evidence become passé?
Nothing has changed in court. There has always been this going on in the court of public opinion. But with the internet and 24/7 cable news its magnified.

So, anyone who's accused should be burned at the stake?

Who is being burned at the stake besides Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Stacey. And do you know how hard it is for women to admit the abuse they endured. It's embarrassing, humiliating, shameful, hurtful. You feel worthless. I don't know the statistics but I think most women have gone through something like this.

How about posting the men who were convicted. I guarantee it's many more. Many women don't come forward because how they are treated by authorities.

Sorry if I sound like a savage by today's standards, but it took care of a lot of the problem.

ADD: I forgot, this IS still happening a lot. One of my friends did security for football games and one of my relatives is a DJ. I don't go to bars anymore. They told me that most of the fights they witness start from some drunk azzz who grabs some girl's behind or whatever (he told me of one instance where they tried to take a girl's shirt off in a bar) and these guys get clocked for it. Still happening on college campuses. There aren't "bouncers" at work to break this stuff up. Sounds like D.C. could use a few if it's this bad *shrug*

So, times were better when men were physically attacked without any legal process after being accused (perhaps falsely) of abuse or harassment by a woman that may very well be lying to cover for her own actions (cheating on a boyfriend, knocked-up by a black guy, etc.).

You are probably correct since it must be almost impossible to prove innocence after being falsely accused of rape.

Many women who are raped are so traumatized that the only think they want to do is go home and get the stink off them while having a melt down in the shower. I guess you don't know anyone who has gone though this torment. It messes you up.
