All the accusations coming out seem to be fostering a dangerous attitude.

Are accusations alone now sufficient cause to call for people to resign, step down or recommending investigations and charges?

What is the end goal behind this lower standard and why do we as a society overwhemingly give the accusers the benefit of the doubt when false accusations are not at all uncommon?

Has the need for actual evidence become passť?

Not in a court of law. The court of public opinion has always been different.

The court of public opinion is not a court of law. There has never been a concept of innocent until proven guilty when it comes to public opinion.

Do the accusers seem plausible? Are there multiple accusers with believable stories? Are there non-victims who are familiar with the accused and back up the victims? Is the alleged behavior fitting with the accused's general attitude and behavior?

If the answers are yes, then sorry, but your reputation is destroyed.

And does that standard also apply when the "court of public opinion" is skewed toward the educational level and emotional "balance"(?) of a 14-year-old?

If the end goal/result of the accusers and those parroting them is to destroy the lives and careers of the accused.....

What's the difference?

Some of you ought to be glad it's women coming forward and it's just jobs and public embarrassment we are talking about. (assuming of course everyone is telling the truth) I know some men who have been sexually abused by other men too. Mostly as children. I know in the case of one man, I was the only person he ever told. Politicians are not above this pervy behavior as we all know.

If men have their #MeToo moment and unbury this stuff....watch out! Some will kill the men who did this to them. That's why they hold it in for so long. Men and women are very different. Men that have buried this are likely to explode in ways that will make this current situation look like Romper Room.

We are now seeing what a real "witch hunt" is. The scorn of a woman is well known and documented.

Society needs to limit the time an alleged victim can report a crime. Forty years is way over the top.
BTW, what were you doing last year at this exact time and day?

Have you noticed that there are no sexual harassment, advances, groping, etc., accusations against any man who is not a public figure or wealthy?

Some women have found gold, and it's in the pockets of those they accuse.

There should be a statute of limitations for criminal prosecution, but we're certainly not going to restrict people's right to speak about what happened to them.

No. That's ridiculous. Obviously only the ones involving famous/important people hit national news.

Prison, for one.

"Swiftboating" has been a favorite GOP strategy for decades now. It was named after lies spread about John Kerry about his military service going up and down deltas in Vietnam rescuing stranded pilots.

The lies and conspiracy tales spread about Clinton are astounding. "Lock her up," is chanted at rallies, though for what remains a muddle as she has never even been charged, let alone convicted of a crime. Uranium One conspiracy tale was bogus from the get go, has been widely debunked, and is still repeated like it was gospel.

After decades of dragging folks through the mud with false accusations and bogus conspiracy tales now suddenly there is this overwhelming concern that people be treated as innocent until proven guilty.

Please.

Spare me.
