You don't get to pick and chose where your tax money goes. I would rather see that dog get lobster than Trump get his weekly golf trips on our dime.

Then they can pay for it with THEIR OWN money.

Should be staples only....for a limited time.

I mean, they are so broke they get gov assistance with food, but then turn around and purchase relatively expensive (like $8-$15/lbs) products. Not by a small amount, talking a pound of this, and pound of that.

Not criticizing the system nor those that use it, but I do think it can be tightened up some. I am interested in ensuring people are not starving, not elevating their quality of life in regards to food.
I'm in full agreement with you. I've seen so much abuse of this system, it's silly.

I have no idea what people buy in the grocery store, I don't look, just want to get checked out and leave as soon as possible.

Likewise, I don't have a clue as to how they pay for the stuff. I always use a credit card, make one payment at the end of the month.

Really, what and how they pay for it is none of my business. Or anyone else's for that matter. Lots of more important things to do than this busybody worry.

99.9% of what I see people buy on EBT is junk food and 9 times out of 10 they are heavily obese. I think it would benefit those on it by only being able to buy healthier foods not junk.

Remove soda + anything with over 50% of calories from added sugars from EBT eligibility? Doesn't seem particularly hard to do something about it. WIC already has far stricter restrictions than that (too strict really, we've done a bad job of finding a happy medium that allows choice while stopping waste).

I wouldn't know. I don't look, it's none of my business nor is it yours.

Confront someone if you wish and feel so a mind to. Perhaps if you did and if maybe they punched (and/or cursed) you out you'd find other more worthwhile things to worry about in the future.

Well, it is the taxpayers' business what someone does with tax money.

I do not know why you think someone will respond to violence; is this you stereotyping people who use EBT? So now aside from using EBT, they are now facing assault charges, not a good move on their part.

Best way of course to make change is by voting, and becoming active to make change happen.

Yes it is if you ignore how they abuse them and you ignore it you are part of the problem. We've had to use food stamps before and we didn't go buy anything fancy with them or any junk food they are to help you get food for you and your family not to gorge oneself.
