Southern California is a lot different now than it was even 15 years ago. Not to mention 25 years ago, or 50 years ago. I don't know when you grew up, so I don't have a yardstick to measure by in your case.

But I'm glad that you're able to feel good supporting the diversity that you personally don't have to deal with.

But things change here too, becoming more diverse. Tides shift. We are and always have been a culturally diverse nation overall. *Shrug*

Prior to any college matriculation, you should have learned about the historical plight of the indigenous Americans and how they were systematically annihilated. I'm certain that you must know that any finite number of Casinos, is no commensurate compensation for Native American loss of life, language, and culture. You can't place monetary value on something of that magnitude.

Besides, millions of dollars can't possibly replace one life!

Yes, you absolutely can claim anything. Which is why my "claim" (TRUTH) isn't that hard to grasp, is it? I could have claimed I'm in the process of writing my dissertation for a PhD in physics, or I could have claimed I have a small business and make seven figures a year, or I could have claimed I went to Harvard or I could have made any number of other claims. No claim here, chief. And if you can't believe that I earned a B.A. with honors from a state university (something liberals apparently both love and hate at the same time - I guess it's in their dual/bipolar elitist/swamp dwelling nature), then that's on you.

I know enough about the Natives - do YOU know about their history? About how they treated EACH OTHER before the white man showed up?

Maybe YOU need to read up on how inhumane they were to their fellow tribesmen across this continent that was named after a blue-eyed European (Amerigo Vespucci) because there wasn't even written language or a 'wheel' here before we showed up.

I'll get you started on your new reading assignment, since you are lacking in information regarding Natives:

...archeology keeps its own history and a new paper finds that the 20th century, with its hundreds of millions dead in wars and, in the case of Germany, China, Russia and other dictatorships, genocide, was not the most violent - on a per-capita basis that honor may belong to the central Mesa Verde of southwest Colorado and the Pueblo Indians.

Writing in the journal American Antiquity, Washington State University archaeologist Tim Kohler and colleagues document how nearly 90 percent of human remains from that period had trauma from blows to either their heads or parts of their arms.

"If we're identifying that much trauma, many were dying a violent death," said Kohler. The study also offers new clues to the mysterious depopulation of the northern Southwest, from a population of about 40,000 people in the mid-1200s to 0 in 30 years.

As I said, get off your high horse. Natives were as backward and brutal to each other as any other walking the earth before we brought the 'wheel', written language and a whole host of other progress to this continent.

I don't call having an identifying culture with "minority" cultures living among us as being multi-cultural per se. Some can't seem to grasp that concept and I believe it's because they hate our identifying culture and can't wait for it to disappear or be diluted.

It's not about race but culture. I am white and I wish to retain our identifying American culture. Does that make me a racist? I don't think so! I live in a very diverse area and it's unbelievably balkanized, culturally. It's not the pretty, harmoneous picture that those of you would like to paint.

I live in a VERY (overly) diverse area and the tension between the races/ethnicities is palpable!

There have been plenty of times when I've seen with my own eyes hate/rage from one non-white person to another.

Exactly! That's why I have people like that on ignore. Some of the most idiotic people in this country are self-hating, white liberals. The past has nothing to do with those of us alive today and if they want to keep bringing up stolen land and genocide by whites then perhaps as you said they need to pack their bags and leave this so-called stolen land then maybe they won't feel so guilty about a past of which they had nothing to do with personally anyway.

I guess saying that we have no identifying American culture and embracing unlimited diversity so that we lose it makes them feel better about themselves.

Yes. Maybe more guys like this will get heard in 2018. This TN comedian is really funny and a prime time comedy is being planned for him. I grew up around a lot of self described rednecks. Believe me, they are not all racists and many are liberal. They are in the minority currently (didn't used to be - these areas were Dem country 20 years ago) but many think like this. We just don't hear it often.

WARNING: Video has profanity (didn't see any issue with posting link to this in the guidelines. If a problem, let me know)

No you didn't because you can't.. You're a slogan machine. I haven't heard anything from you that backs up your claim that all Americans "share some basic identifying culture" with each other. The main thing most Americans share is language...

I'm sure there are plenty of history books that can fill you in on what that culture was.
What level of ignorance would one need to think that it is recent immigrants that have changed that culture?
