For those overly concerned about global warming, can you explain to me why in the last 5 years Ocean temperatures haven't risen at all and, in fact, have slightly declined????
Not trying to stir the pot, I've yet to hear a decent answer about it. Personally, I'm on the fence about the issue since it seems each new data that comes out contradicts the last one.
It seems to me there is credible evidence on both sides. Therefore, I prefer to err on the side of caution and assume we have created a state of global warming and should do what we reasonably can to aleviate the situation.

Using the OP as an example, what would you suggest? Emptying our ice-cube trays into the nearest body of water?

I've heard that argument before, but I've not come across a single bit of evidence that we have caused global warming--even the most C02 in the atmosphere has been released by the ocean.

It's the bigest lie Gore has ever told and he is getting very rich....He will be stopped.....by a Law suit............Carrie
I have to say I agree-although I think i have an open mind to the possibility of global warming (human caused and eventually catastrophic) it seems more and more like a sham. A sham that has become a huge bandwagon in the last year or so. It's hard not to look downright evil if you aren't "green" in alot of circles.

Well, what can it hurt to live a little more "green"? Recycle, buy vehicles that get decent gas milage and maybe not make that extra trip to the store. Or maybe walk or ride a bike rather than drive 6 blocks... I really don't see the problem there.

I agree. But I also believe that what's happening was going to happen regardless--whether humans inhabited this planet or not. We don't help with how careless we are, but still.
