How much judgement does a young child have? This bill is irresponsible! I don't think this is safe.

Residents of any age, even toddlers, could legally hunt in Wisconsin under a bill the Assembly passed that eliminates the state's minimum hunting age.

Default Some children are exceptional

Davy, Davy Crockett, King of the wild frontier.
Born on a mountain top in Tennessee,
Greenest state in the land of the free.
Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree,
Killed him a bear when he was only three.

If the young ones are with their parents or someone who knows what they're doing I don't understand the problem is.

Toddlers, could legally hunt in Wisconsin!

You mean the govt of Wisconsin actually relied on PARENTS to take care of their toddlers and keep them from grabbing a gun???

How could they possibly trust sovereign citizens to do the right and sensible thing?

How un-liberal of them!

I'm looking at the current regulations right now, and it's a bit confusing.

It says that everyone participating in a group hunt must have a license.

That could mean that if someone had their 6-year-old with them, the 6-year-old would need a license even if he were not actually shooting. If this is the case, I can understand the change.

The problem is that the wording kind of sucks.

Can't wait for the new Elmo J-frames.

Imagine being the first toddler to take out a mountain lion with your hello kitty AR-15.

I was hunting by myself at age 8. I think I was 6 when I first shot a rabbit.

It's mentoring program and there is specific rules they need to follow like the kid being in arms reach of the mentor and there is only one gun allowed.

This may come as surprise to you but there is very lot of young kids shooting guns daily under the supervision and guidance of adults. If you are going to have guns in the house you need to educate your children on their safe use and allow them to shoot them, at least that is my opinion. One of the imporatant things here is you are removing the mystery. When to allow a child to start shooting depends and is judgement best left to the parents

If you don't start learning at a young age that you must ask permission from daddy government to do anything you may actually start to think for yourself.

Dangerous legislation!
