But not at the same ceremony. The Navajo code talkers helped the U.S. win the war, and the ceremony should have been all about them, period. There are no finer patriots than these men- for a number of reasons.

It was not to be about Senator Warren and any pecadillos that she might have done or said, or about Hillary, or Obama, or the Democrats. Can't he do anything straight?

It is like having a Medal of Honor Ceremony for an African American, and slamming Al Sharpton in the same ceremony. I feel very ashamed and deeply apologetic for the Honorees.

He has absolutely no couth at all!

First thank you for your service.

I think Trump's point was the he was acknowledging true, and legitimate American Indians, and wanted to point out the hypocrisy of those that falsely use their heritage for personal gain. It may not have been the most appropriate place to slam a political foe, but I understand his motivation.

I do know the history of the Navajo code talkers, but thanks for the history. I don't know if this ceremony was anywhere near the solemnness of a Medal of Honor ceremony, but I get the analogy.

From now on the Trump threads might have to be in the Psychology forum. I can't see how he can be figured out politically.

Why do you guys believe she lied? It's not lying if she is 1/32 Native American. And she never claimed to be full blooded anyways ffs

It's very telling, his use only of "Pocahontas." She's pretty much squeaky-clean. He can't accuse her of corruption. So he uses the most harmless term he can come up with.

He certainly has a knack for butchering the delivery of that. I personally take no offense as it does apply to me; however, I do think that his use of the name "Pocahontas" to belittle Warren, whether he's speaking to Native Americans or not is a really poor choice of wording/words.

FFS what a monumental embarrassment this guy is.
He'd be embarrassing if he was just a regular person. Instead he's President of the United States. Mean girl name calling and no social graces.

I think the President has trouble inspiring people during his speeches as so many past Presidents have managed to do so easily. He knows how to get people stoked up but that doesn't last long, the flame goes out. He preaches to the choir. Just like his speech to the military was about the military. Native Americans are already keeping score for themselves they don't need his help.
