There is no indication that Elizabeth Warren deliberately faked her ancestry for personal gain. As I understand it, she took the word of elder family members about an issue that may or may not be accurate. She would not be the first to do so, and she won't be the last. After twenty-five years of studying my own family's genealogy, I cannot tell you how many times I've learned that something passed down as truth for many generations turned out to be false. It happens, but I not aware of any scientific evidence refuting Warren's belief that her family stories of Native American ancestry are true. It might still be true. We simply do not know. In any case, let's not forget that Donald Trump, by his own admission in Art of the Deal, was party to his family's lie that they were Swedish in order to protect their business interests at a time when anti-German sentiments in America were running high. My interest is always piqued when Donald Trump starts ranting about somebody else's hypocrisy. It almost always means that he's trying to cover for a skeleton in his own or his family's closet.

That is a lie.

They said the term and use of Pocahontas was not offensive, nor were they offended when the marines yelled Geronimo! Every time they jumped out of an aircraft.

He was slurring a white women who lied and said she was native.

She gets a pass. She lied and used benefits set aside for groups like Native Americans for her own personal gain and the left has no problem with that.

So sensitive we are now. Well not all of us but the far left. I do have issues with Trump but this is a nothing burger.

The left has to stop crying wolf every time the want to say Trump is saying something horrible. All you hear after a while is white noise.

So she comes from a family of liars. Apple does not fall far from the tree.

I come from a middle class family. If some family members told me I was native I would not use that to get a leg up on others. Its so wrong.

I've been asking, what exactly was her personal gain, specifically. Name the university where she used affirmative action and spare me the usual response that she was listed in the register. Any university or benefit will suffice.

What I'm saying is that family stories when passed from generation to generation can become canon regardless of the truth, but let me reiterate that there is no scientific evidence refuting her family's story either. Everything is hearsay, including the claims that she lied.

On the other hand, Trump's family blatantly lied about their heritage in order to sustain their business in a time when anti-German sentiments were running high. And Donald was party to it.

This never would have come up unless she brought it up. She used it to gain advantage as a politician, she believed at one point she was native american so why would she not use it to get into college?

She used it to get hired at Harvard and Penn, although she says she told them after she was hired which makes no sense at all.
