An infant? Are you serious? You must not have spent much time around babies. Learning to wait comes a bit later.
I sure hope you're not planning on feeding a baby that way.
Breasts have always been for feeding babies and for men's enjoyment only as a side benefit. It used to be pretty common to nurse your child in public in the U.S. until the 50s, when formula companies used marketing to promote the idea that nursing was a bad idea and advertisers started using breasts to sell things. You've been programmed, just like the men in the Middle East have been programmed to see ankles as arousing and suggestive.
Are you saying women in the Middle East with the bigger ankles get all the men?
Actually a penis is a sex organ where the breast is not but if you choose to view eating and urinating on an equal basis and are comfortable urinating in public far be it from me to tell you otherwise.
Really? Better tell that to all the erogenous zone self help books/magazines and women who think different...
Let us all know, please, when women start growing babies in their breasts. Until then they are just and erogenous zone, just like lips are an erogenous zone. In fact, if you take a look at this article you will see that many other parts of our bodies are considered erogenous zones: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erogenous_zone
One could always do what every mother at my work did which was pump and use bottles when they weren't in a place where they could bust out the jugs...
You know you're going to a very busy, very public place so fill up a couple of bottles, problem solved. There are viable options unless of course you just want to flaunt and shove in people's faces YOUR opinion of what should be allowed in public.
I wonder what Disney and the boob ladies would think of a man walking around the park in a banana hammock (speedo) and t-shirt. My guess is he'd be stopped post haste and told to leave or cover up even though nothing is exposed.
Double standard???
Not everyone can pump. For real. It's not quite the same action as a baby, as much as it tries to mimic it, and it can be a lot harder to get enough milk pumped. Some can't really get any. It's not as easy as you posit.
Sometimes, too, you can try and just "fill up a couple bottles", but babies go through growth spurts (which no, you aren't always able to anticipate when it starts) and want/need to chow down more. Also, some babies just won't take a bottle. What, then?
It would depend on what rules Disney had for Speedo wearing men. If they allowed it...well, that's just part and parcel and people can not go there if they are that worried about it. Breastfeeding is allowed in public. If you're truly that offended, go email your Congresscritter or something.
She doesnt feel the need to hide her nursing infant. If your uncomfortable with it dont look.
Just like the patron I encountered who was quite comfortable exposing his entire hairy behind, I was not comfortable seeing it so I averted my eyes. How hard is that. I was not forced to continue to see more than the unintended glimpse which BTW did not sexually arouse me nor scare me for life.
Maybe you should take another look at the lady in this thread. I think I am scarred for life.
Comments like that make me wonder if the reaction would have been a bit less intense if she had been a bit thinner and more conventionally "pretty."
I get that some people are uncomfortable with seeing a mother nursing a baby in public. What I don't get is acting like it's some kind of pornography, or heaping disapproval on the mother in question because she doesn't look like a fashion model.
Updating this, as I have finished reading the thread.
Ya'll know what's ugly? It isn't that woman's breasts, it's all the nasty comments about how droopy they are or how fat she is.
I'm glad people think breasts are sexy, but that is not their primary function. It's a side benefit. They exist as a food delivery system for infants of all mammals, human women included. If it makes you uneasy, okay, fine. But that is no reason to disparage this woman's looks, or to say her breasts look like cow udders, or act like the sight of a mother feeding her child is so disgusting that it makes you vomit.
I don't think she's so pretty either, but guess what? That isn't her job. Her job is to be a mom, and as far as I can see, she is doing it, and that, my friends, is beautiful.
Couldn't agree more. There is nothing obscene about breastfeeding or breasts. I think they're pretty, no matter who they belong to. Women aren't always perfectly built, and neither are men. Mothers deserve respect.
As I said below, if you don't like it, don't look.

Opinions vary. I think that mother is getting all the respect she deserves.

that is the only argument ass peeing on the ground is the natural function of peeing just as squirting milk into your childs mouth is the natural function of breastfeeding.
The very argument of supporting public breastfeeding is specifically about the natural non sexual functionality of the breast. The same can be said of peeing in public.
Many societies view a breast the same way they view an arm or hand. Only in the West do we give them some unique and mystical provenance which says they must be hidden at all times under clothing.
