College spending $60k to turn computer lab into 'safe space' and students are fighting back against it.

More social justice nonsense and students getting steamrolled. Wants to add a Safe Space for Undocumented Students.

Santa Monica College is preparing to spend $60,000 to confiscate part of a popular computer lab in order to make way for a new $500,000 social justice center.
The move was approved unanimously by the student government's Board of Directors, but more than 300 students have signed a petition protesting the use of student fees to finance the removal of a popular service.

"It is morally wrong to take a program as valuable as the Computer Lab from all of us while at the same time using the student fees that we all paid to do it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that all the students protesting this new facility, are members of the Young Republican group.

This puts the lie to colleges as educational institutions. A computer lab has much more teaching value than a safe space.

Let me fix this:

The world is a big nasty awful place. **** your safe spaces and get the **** over yourself you worthless wimpy **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ****.

Damn Im getting closer to and closer to advocating DEfunding most universities and putting all the funding toward community colleges whose SOLE purpose shall be "to focus on increasing skills of students for in demand work skills".

Edit 2: Good grief I just read the Wiki and this IS a community college. What the .... (Great thanks PHMA now im angry)

Edit how much money are we wasting making people feel good? or teaching hobbies/passions pretending that they are job skills?

Let me see if I have this right. Student fees are being collected from all students? And then used to aid criminals in breaking the law? Now who would be upset about that?

With the massive homeless problem in SM I wonder if they'll check IDs at the safe space to make sure only students use it.

And then people wonder why less international students apply to US colleges each year.

Turn a computer lab into a safe space for illegals on a college campus.

K-12 is already in th dumpster and now colleges are following suit.
