Advances might not be welcome, or invited. And men should do better about knowing when they are not wanted. But, it defies logic to suggest that women haven't used their sex appeal to get the places they want to go, including dressing in a manner that is sure to get the attention of the men they want (and don't want) to attract. Have you ever been to a night club or bar in your life? Hell, i've sat in on job interviews where it was painfully clear that cleavage was to be used as part of the candidate's appeal. Sexual harrassment is not acceptable in any form, but this stuff is not rocket science.
What does one have to do with the other? Using sex appeal to get a possible advantage and harassment.? I don't see the connection. People use their assets all the time. Men get hair transplants and expensive watches. Some people in Asian countries get leg lengthening to be taller than the competition. Why pick on women's clothing and sexuality when people all over are doing what they can to get an advantage.
These guys have power and control issues combined with a huge ego is what it is. You make 25 mil a year, live in NYC and you need to harass women at work? They all talked smack on O'Reilly but they are just as bad as he is you gotta love the irony and pot calling the kettle black there.
I believe the liberal chickens have come home to roost. I never liked Lauer, but this whole 'scandal du jour' is getting ridiculous. Now a man is fired because of a random allegation? No proof?
Men, keep your guards up at work. May be wise to have a digital recorder on you at all times when alone with a female coworker/employee. All it takes is an allegation to destroy your career.
Get that popcorn ready.
The A list television personality might want to watch his step. Since he's an established bully among other things, trying to badger others on TV might not be the best choice right now. There is one person in particular who is waiting for an opening reveal all about him which will open the floodgates for others. Get that popcorn ready.
At least this one went through HR and not the court of public opinion, that's good. It also supposedly happened at the Olympics, which was a fairly recent event. As far as I'm concerned, calling out your offender, in real time (or close to it), is a must do. I've been pretty harsh on women with 20 or 30 years old allegations, so this is a step in the right direction.
yeah so if I say it today I have a better chance of conning the public that it must be true
I am hard pressed to fall victim to this mob mentality in accusing every Joe of inappropriate behavior based on a statement. We've suddenly grown deaf to due diligence in finding out the truth from ALL sides.
Gotta go for now , need to go write a letter and send it to my corporate so they can quickly can someone.
I sincerely beleive that One letter and and one persons words are taking a new meaning to the pen is mighter then the sword. These "victims" certainly are taking advantage of the Few who do and did have good cause for their allegations. I don't see NBC doing anything other then falling victim themselves to rushing to a decision ( 48 hours from the time this was addressed??) . That isn't due diligence...that is them distancing themselves . Period.

These uber rich celebrity guys could be surrounded by willing women attending to their every fantasy. They don't want that, they want to pick on the subordinate women at work who are made to feel like crap. They are asserting their dominance over the women in their little kingdom where they think they are the untouchable king.
Think again.
Ok, so the woman who is accusing Matt Lauer is not at blame in any of his behavior. BUT the root cause of all of this is much, much deeper than just a man here or there who crossed boundaries. Women as a whole haven't done anything about the root cause itself--which is that women as a whole have a double standard of behavior and beliefs themselves and have allowed the objectification of women to escalate ever since the sexual revolution. There is a definite double standard. Women cluck cluck over Matt Lauer and various other men's jokes or groping but then turn around and pose naked on magazine covers and make money off of their own objectification. News flash: Men wouldn't be able to go to Hooters if there weren't women willing to work there. Men wouldn't be able to indulge in countless porn magazines and internet porn if there weren't women willing to make money off of it. Women are willing to marry men who are known to have been cheaters and abusers because they are going to get taken care of. Many, many women were willing to put up with a comment and grope here or there to make it big in Hollywood.
We haven't heard from these women. We haven't heard any women with the guts to come forward and say, "Yeah, I put up with the comments and gropings because I made money off of it."
Plenty of Weinstein's accusers have made clear they percieved their careers would be in jeopardy if they previously went public.
Hooter's employees choose to allow patrons to look. They do not agree to be touched.
FLOTUS has a history of suggestively posing in nude/ near nude photos and did so with the encouragement of her eventual husband who has no issue with men admiring his ability to capture such a beauty. Does not give men the right to grope her, does it.
If a man chooses to not control himself perhaps he should avoid looking or maybe relocate to Saudi Arabia.
