When Kaepernick was brought up the owners immediately called for a bathroom break to avoid the issue. Much of this came from a local sports talk host and former player Ike Reese who is friends with some of the players in that coalition.

One link released yesterday.
Colin Kaepernick's inclusion in Players Coalition at heart of Eric Reid, Malcolm Jenkins dispute - ABC News
It wasn't about Kaep getting a job, it was about Kaep being included on the meetings. Jenkins clearly had other financial incentives in mind and he needed Kaep out of the way, because Kaep actually cares about the cause. Jenkins is a little scumbag for this. The other players know it too. This had nothing to do with Kaep getting a job though like you tried to say. If it was about a job, Kaep would have stood up a long time ago.

Side with the protestors/civil rights heroes/flag disrespect /America hating commies and let them keep on doing what they have been doing despite your “rules” or enforce your rules.

Of course this is a good example of the mindset of most people with “a cause” and billionaires.

Everyone has a price.

People could always just ignore the kneeling. That's the funny part. Ignoring the kneeling is 100% free.

what else is the NFL concerned about, what really drives the NFL and players...? I'd like to think it's just the game, but......

There were reports after that first and only meeting that several players wanted to address the blackballing of Kaepernick and wanted to use that as a negotiation tool to end the protests. I would assume that meant ending the blackballing of Kap and someone offering him a contract.

As far as Jenkins, he seemed reluctant in including Kap in future meetings even though he claimed an invitation was extended in which both Kap and his lawyer denied. Anyways that is now past news, and agree Jenkins is a real snake in the grass.

"Some of those players wanted "Kaep getting a job"'

Pro Football is NOT the little league where many libs want EVERY child to get a trophy.

kap was BENCHED because he did NOT perform.

He didn't start his shenanigans till AFTER he was demoted to the bench.

People are ignoring it... along with the whole game. That's why the owners want to pay up.

Good point, those numbers are before this whole kneeling situation. I am very interested in seeing what the numbers will be in the next few years. Perhaps this thing is real and there will be a huge drop, or perhaps it is just a small minority making lots of noise and revenue still stays strong.

Yes he was benched before he started protesting but then regained his starting job. But that is irrelevant. He is not out of the league for Football reasons.

And I need no lecture about sports. Been in the business for 40 plus years. As far as participation trophies, do not agree but to big a deal being made about them. What matters is today's youth are more competitive and skilled in sports then ever before. Also irrelevant to the topic on hand. What is relevant is, Pro Sports is not like a normal business where employers can easily replace employees at the same caliber. There has to be mutual cohesion between the owners and players.

The athletes must be admired or there is no business. People aren't going to pay money to ignore football players they don't respect.
