This is a very important point. Under our system, proof is needed of allegations. We don't convict people based on mere rumor and innuendo.
If Donald Trump understood that, he'd stop blabbering constantly about Hillary Clinton belonging in prison.
Problem is that many people in this thread seem to think that we don't even convict based on an actual confession and plea bargain. I'm beginning to think they believe it should be based solely on political party affiliation and that if you are a Democrat, you are guilty or something and if you are a Republican, it doesn't matter what you do, you can't be guilty of anything.

What a stupid (and DESPERATE) argument he's made. He KNOWS it's over. It's just a matter of the process playing out.
In my opinion the longer that takes the better. I want it to drag out long enough for the stink of Trump to taint the entire GOP.

Trump is not out-of-the-blue oddity. He is exactly what the GOP is about and has been about for some time now.
Democrats could beat on Trump like a bass drum all the way to a majority in the House.
Pelosi knows that calling for his impeachment now is a fool's move.
I don't think Flynn offered anything that Mueller didn't already know or strongly suspected thru other sources.
Flynn does serve a very useful purpose though. He was an active participant in the various processes Mueller is looking at or else witnessed them first hand.
If that's true, then the evidence from the other sources would be the smoking gun, not Flynn's testimony. Flynn's testimony, to the extent that it agrees with the evidence from other sources, is corroborative, but would not be the decisive factor that it's being presented as in the media.
OTOH, if Flynn's testimony is all the evidence there is, then the case seems to be pretty weak. You would have a case based solely on the testimony of a person who is a self-admitted, convicted liar. Further, the testimony (if we are to believe all the hype) was given because the prosecution had all kinds of evidence that would have allowed them to charge Flynn with much more serious crimes, therefore making the testimony coerced to at least some degree. A case based only on the coerced testimony of a known liar is not the stuff that a prosecutor dreams of going to trial with.
From the minute he asked Comey to back off, then fired him when he didn't agree, every single action by the President shows he is afraid of what will come out in the investigation.
If you are really taking a "let's see before deciding guilt or innocence" then you clearly are not a Trumpling. The poster mistook your position because it should be obvious by now that the true Trumplings have already made their decision and they have proclaimed the man innocent. This is totally preposterous, obviously, because none of us know what has and will be discovered.
That's why it appears as if they are not interested in learning the truth, they are more interested in protecting their President. Again that's preposterous. Every American deserves the truth and we will only get that by allowing the investigation to continue without the President doing everything possible to hinder it.
He is in fact innocent until some investigation,trial and conviction show him to be guilty just like every other citizen in the U.S. is "supposed to be". There has been no,repeat NO evidence so far that Trump is guilty of anything except having run away fingers and mouth. Those two things are not illegal.
If/when there is evidence and a charge then and only then will anyone have any idea of what's really gone/going on. Everything up to that point is just partisan pap...
New story out that Trump apparently has a plan to interfere with the coming census--which if done to favor the GOP (and why else would it be considered) would be a major step forward in voter suppression policies the GOP has been doing on state level for a decade or more
I know my Texas/GOP majority legislature has certainly done it--and been sued--and lost--and appealed all the way to the Supreme Court where one case was heard earlier this year...
Very SCARY if you are a believer in true democracy...and not just your political party...
And since any step toward impeachment has to come from Congress and a GOP majority Congress that would be protected from any election loss by skewing voters' power to vote for anyone NOT GOP--
Well that seems another end around method for Trump protecting himself and his allies from this investigation...
