The NY Times is a truly horrible newspaper even the Washington Post is somewhat better.
This article is an amazing example of it..they're basically trying to tie Lauer to Trump and that they had some sort of a bromance or something. Unbelievable how stupid the articles in the NY Times are.
And she can trade those 3 million votes for what? The two cheeseburger special at the local McDonalds?
The simple lesson is that Hillary ran a terrible campaign and still got 3 million more votes than Trump. In 2020 anyone who runs a half decent campaign will have a great chance at defeating Donald.

I do agree with that. Trump can't win in 2020 but I doubt he ever runs. I think he finishes out his term, declares victory - and goes home, leaving Pence to run.

There's no guarantee of that, I know there is still plenty of time but right now none of the potential Democratic candidates really excite me. I'm sure I will still vote for one of them over Trump, but Trump's base is very loyal and strong and so far the Democrats don't have anyone like that to energize their base.

Dems put up a bad candidate. That's their own fault.
Those still clinging to the notion of the popular vote need to ACCEPT the rules of the game. We don't do majority vote for president here. It's a combination of population and land representation - which is completely fair.
No one is clinging to the fact that Hillary got millions of more votes than Trump. It simply highlights how weak of a position Trump will start 2020 and he’s done nothing to improve his standing with voters.

If the OP is clinging to the past by mentioning Hillary...
You are clinging to the popular vote by bringing it up.
The same rules apply to both cases... right ??
