That's a good point. I guess I should have said, IMO.

LOL! ... Oh wait... you're serious?

Jews have been in Jerusalem since at least 1000 BC.

Islam didn't exist until the 7th century AD.

So you're only off by about 1600 years...

Modern history has Israel as Israel. I’m glad you finally agree.

Talk to the poster saying Muslims had the land first.

Its not right.
I think the British and then the United States are more to blame than the U.N., but that's another bit of history that can't be undone...

Israel today has a right to exist. Okay, but to continue with the aggressive land grab beyond even the still-contested borders is wrong, even more so that the United States continue to be so utterly one-sided on behalf Israel regardless how wrong the agenda, regardless the countless UN resolutions to the contrary, regardless the many Jews also opposed, let alone the average American who really has no interest in getting any deeper into the mess that ancient ME history has us forever dealing with today and tomorrow.

News article from The Hill says that Trump doesn't fully understand the Jerusalem decision

Trump didn't seem to have complete understanding of Jerusalem decision: report | TheHill

Trump did not completely grasp the ramifications of recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital....

Trump wanted to seem "pro-Israel" and focused on "making a deal"

It is their nation insofar as the UN declared it to be so. I think that was woefully bad decision making on the UN.

That's why I say it shouldn't be their nation. Should never have been.

That is quite right.

Much of the resentment comes from just this type of scenario played out. Now it's as if that refugee state/part of New England is making a grab for Boston.

In essence, Israel has been doing to the west bank what Germany did to Poland.

:sigh:

We are talking modern history. NOT about the Bible or the Torah.

I think you tried to make the case that it matters who was there first. Right?

In any case, I'd like to talk to anyone who thinks today's problems are going to be resolved by way of ancient world maps and/or history, but we all know that talking to someone driven by their own particular bias rather than what is right or wrong accomplishes nothing.

Just like evidenced by all the opinions being changed as a result of any comments posted in this thread...
