Not totally sure whether POC is the appropriate forum, but since legalization is generally still a political, somewhat controversial issue, I thought it appropriate to post this article here.
Per the article, if this prediction bears out, that means the legal cannabis market (currently $8B) will see more revenue than the NFL (aiming to $25B in revenue by 2027). Even high-ranking employees at Google and Apple have left to start cannabis startups.
Great news. Especially if it reduces the number of anti-cannabis politicians (who are found in both parties, although it does seem like there are more Rs resisting the trend than Ds right now).

Evangelical Protestants, specifically Baptists are the only thing currently standing in the way of nationwide legalization right now. They view cannabis as immoral and sinful and therefore it should be illegal.
Moralistic boomers are going to be replaced by pragmatic xers and then eventually with the more liberal Millennial generation. Even majority of Republican Millennials support legalizing weed. Soon weed will be legalized everywhere.
It is true that many Baptists are against weed because they see it as "devil's lettuce" but some other Baptists believe that God created the plant for us to use.
Like it, it frees up space in the jails, reduces court costs, LEO time, and removes the legal and financial consequences for those that prefer it over alcohol. Win win all around.
If cannabis is found to provide effective pain relief it'll definitely become a bigger market. The aging boomers are moving into their prime health crisis years and anything that helps will be welcome
Reality is, until the Federal Gov changes it's laws regarding this, there still is still no such thing as legal cannabis. They can pull the plug on all of it anytime they want to.
Let's all hope with increased supply that prices will come down. With so many cannabis farms around as well as better growing methods, still the prices are far too high for something on par with a six pack or two of beer, not to mention a bottle of decent wine.
This is great news, I have seen the term Green Rush used to describe the huge financial impact of marijuana legalization and medical use. Once that kind of money rolls in, it will be impossible for the Reefer Madness crowd and committed drug warriors like Sessions to do a thing to stop it. Just like casino gambling which can now be found in even Bible thumping states like Kansas.
