So should we Americans be overly concerned about the North Korea starting a nuclear war? Is there anything the USA can or should do to make sure this does not happen?

War with N. Korea will only happen if N. Korea does something very stupid. Kim Jung Un knows very well that a war will be the end of him and his ruling party, it is suicide for him to start a war. One the other hand, the U.S. and its allies in that area should stop trying to "poke the bear" so to speak, geez, we don't need war games every other week on the N. Korean boarder.

Default KIM looking ofrward to olympic games

Kim will wait for the Olympics, fire another icbm intended to trip trump's trigger and the US and allies will have to sit on their hands lest the Olympic audience and athletes will be caught in the crossfire.

Iran will pile on if NK launches.

That's the plan.

Too bad Obama cut the defense budget, another one of his great ideas.

.

Our defense budget, to defend a nation bordered by two oceans and two friendly countries, overseen by the only major government agency to have never been audited, exceeds that of the next eight nations combined.

What makes MORE! MORE! MORE! a cry that should be agreed to by knee-jerk reaction?

Or
Maybe if the last 3 presidents didn't waste money fighting wars that didn't concern us. Maybe if we stopped wasting money playing world cop. Maybe if corrupt politicians didn't force the Army to buy tanks that they didn't want or need.
Maybe if we didn't waste 1.5 trillion on the F-35.
We could cut our budget in half and not impact our security.

We could leave the Korean Peninsula, not because of the threats of Rocket Man, but because itís none of our damn business.

American blood and treasure shouldnít be used to police the rest of the world.

Our own State Dept has already said the same thing. The sad thing is it seems this major threat seems to be have been pushed to the background by the Roy Moore stuff, the move by trump on Israel, the Me Too movement, and the wildfires in California, among several other issues, all of which will mean Squat if the NK situation goes completely south. Oh Look! A Butterfly.........gotta go...........

You should read some history to get a better grasp on why we are there to begin with. There is no way we will pull out of SK until the threat of NK is gone and even then it s doubtful due to China's movements to control the South China Sea and the issue of Taiwan still in limbo.
