They should have followed up with, would you be willing to cut the obscenely bloated military budget to ensure everyone has healthcare? That would be the place to start. The money is there. It's just a matter of priorities.
Indeed it is.
We have military forces stationed all over the world, fighting in a lot of those places, and this has been going on for 16 years.
What's sad is that every other country in the civilized world cares about the health of its citizens. But not the U.S. Go bankrupt and/or go off in the corner and die if you can't afford medical treatment.
That's what's really sad.
Every other country that is protected by the US military, and taxes ALL of their citizens. Most Americans would be fine closing our bases around the world and using the military to protect our borders. How many of your progressives would be willing to tax EVERYONE to pay for healthcare? Virtually none of you.

Friends in Costa Rica say everyone there has health insurance. It's been that way for years. They believe it is important for working people to stay healthy. And children. And elders.
They want something for nothing. They'll be shocked when they find out they're going to have to pay for it.
Sounds very much like Medicare. Everybody understands you have skin in the game and pay your fair share.

This progressive fully expects to pay her fair share. And always has.
I believe the solution is a hybrid system. We should automatically enroll everyone in the US in a single-payer system for basic health care and emergencies, and then allow private insurers to sell policies for extra services. This type of system works very well in other countries.
I 100% agree with you. It would far less expensive than what we currently do.
I'm already giving up 15% of my income and have to pay $3000 before anything is covered. Much rather that go to a single payer system any day.
just add 25% to what you're paying now and you'll be all set.
