I would suspect he and a few other Republicans will want to hedge their bets against a revenue shortfall after the tax numbers start coming in. They will be able to say they voted and tried to fix it. They will get something in exchange for holding out but that's how these things work. There is a lot on the table with the Supreme Court taking up Gerrymandering, the Alabama, Virginia, and NJ elections. Make no mistake there will be winners and losers in this bill.
As I said to another poster, the reasons are myriad for the necessity of social safety nets. Its been discussed ad nauseum on this site in the nearly 10 years I've been a part of it. If you don't understand why, its because you don't want to understand why.

Big difference between having none at all and the no consequences for abuse free for all that we have now.

I can't believe I'm typing this, but I actually agree with Ann Coulture when she tweeted about this. It's something that I'm not so liberal about. People getting tax credits because the chose to have kids and childless people still having to pair their fare share. One of my single parent cousins got a freaking $10,000 tax refund one year because she had kids. SMH.
This is absolutely SHOCKING!! He is throwing a tantrum because he wants low-income parents with children to receive a FULLY REFUNDABLE TAX CREDIT over what the repubs have already proposed!! The people that he is advocating for pay ZERO federal income taxes and he even wants them to be able to receive more than they pay into the crooked system. Maybe he has more in common with Nancy Pelosi, except for being a homophobic azz?

Trump and his goons in the GOP are in a tenuous position. They pass this bill and folks feel the effects of it OR it collapses and they have ZERO legislative victories for which to show for. As was the case with Moore in AL, they are in a lose-lose situation.
Conservatives are supposed to be debt/deficit hawks and small government. This bill is the opposite.
Economic health, and job creation is a core belief of conservatives. A reasonable tax cut, especially when rates are way TOO HIGH is one way to do it. If the economy grows, tax revenue will increase.
It doesn't matter if it's over. It happened. The top few got billions in bail outs and your are complaining over the bottom getting a few bucks.
I don’t like ANY of it!! I just started want to be able to work, be productive and keep my earnings without being forced to give them to rich, poor and especially poor that are not responsible enough to use birth control.
Not to mention welfare- loading immigrants in this country whose vote slime ball Rubio is buying with this monstrosity.
