Actually- Gingrich and Hastert did not leave because of their sexual shenanigans. Hastert chose to leave on his own.

well, I figure it this way; as long as tRump is in his office, why should Franken leave?

repercussion somehow magically stops when it gets to the president? both were duly elected. both should face the same consequences for the same behavior.

Seems like he should be fighting the allegations if they are truly false, and announcing that he is staying put like Trump and Moore are doing.
not all the allegations against franken were denied. he admitted to a few of them where there was evidence against him, like the picture of him molesting tweeden. but he says he remembered the forced kisses, and there were supposedly a few of them, differently than the women did. and still other alegations against him he said he doesnt remember at all.

as for why he chose to resign. there were 31 democrat senators pressuring him to resign, i suspect because they though they would gain leverage against the republicans in 2018 if moore won the election.

it was all political grandstanding by the democrats.

No one has shown that Trump did anything wrong.
