Taylor Swift will do a song about it and the US media will talk more about her new video than the war itself.

- Financial markets will experience a major crash. Trump, who has been taking credit for the economy since he took the oath...will blame Obama. Bankers will get bailed out (again).

- Mueller will indict Jared and a few others - Trump will pardon them and the GOP won't care. The state AG of NY will charge Trump under RICO and freeze his assets (which neither Congress nor Trump can do anything about). Pence, Jared, and others will also be charged under the same NY state RICO investigation. Trump charged with money laundering for Russian organized crime - Republicans protect him to the end.

- Democrats will win millions more votes in the November 2018 election but Reps will hold onto the house due to gerrymandering. Dems will get control of the senate but will not be able to reverse the damage done by the GOP. Republicans enact even more voter suppression laws to keep minorities from voting.

- Trump and the GOP will stage their own version of the Reichstag Fire to give him authoritarian "emergency powers" which he'll never give up. Trump will start his own secret police force to subvert the rule of law, judges will be assassinated by wingnuts.

- Putin, finally gets fed up with Trump and releases the pee tape. GOP does not care. Evangelicals declare the tape represents a holy Christian ritual and this proves that Trump is the second coming of Christ.

- More openly racist candidates run on the GOP ticket across the country. Some win, some lose.

- More kids will die due to a lack of health care. Since they are not fetuses, Mike Pence will not insist on giving them funerals.

- Clemson will win the college football playoff!
Let's go back and look at last year's predictions.

Item 1: WRONG. Trump did not start a war, in fact he is getting us out of Syria and there has been real progress in the Korean peninsula.

Item 2: Partially right. Markets were down for the year thanks to a terrible December, but didn't crash.

Item 3: WRONG on everything

Item 4: WRONG: Democrats took House, Republicans held Senate.

Item 5: WRONG: No Reichstag fire, no emergency powers

Item 6: WRONG

Item 7: WRONG - I don't remember hearing any.

Item 8: Partially right, people keep dying. But it can't be tied to healthcare.

Item 9: WRONG - Alabama won over Georgia

That's the problem with predictions. In retrospect, the best you can do is "break even" and in the vast majority of cases, you end up looking silly.

It is for the same reason that one should never "trash talk" in sports- there is a high risk of looking stupid at the conclusion of the event.

Zero for 10...pretty good for a Democrat

I am going to stick with the one prediction I have been making since day one. "This Presidency is going to end in a very strange way."

With all that is going on, my chances of being correct increases every single day.

Thanks for this reply! I was going to reply, but you did the work for me :-) It's difficult to make 9 correct predictions for the new year....but being WRONG on all 9 of them truly takes talent....lol. I would guess the issue here is that the OP doesn't have a non-partisan bone in his body, and these 9 out of 9 wrong predictions (all negative of course) pretty much prove that fact.

Item 2, while it was certainly uncomfortable to experience for anyone with money in the market, it certainly wasn't a crash....but certainly was/is a "correction", which is bound to happen at some point with the way the markets have risen over the past few years, and the very rapid rise since Trump took office.

Item 8, Hard to prove right or wrong....kids die unfortunately, and no matter what manner of health insurance/health care we have as a nation, a lot of kids healthcare depend on having good self sacrificing parents who are engaged in their children's lives....and we will never have 100% participation in that.
